ST. JOE’S NEWS PARKING LOT ALERT!
Friends of the Library Book Sale
Please note that the annual “Friends of the Library Book Sale” is
on next week. Set up is on Wednesday, November 6th and the
book sale goes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This is a won-
derful opportunity for you and your family to peruse and get some
‘good reads’!
ALERT: As a school community, for the most part, we have estab-
lished successful parking lot routines and etiquette. On these days
there will be many, many, many, many people who do not know
our procedure.
OUR JOB: Please be friendly with ‘visitors’ to our parking lot and if
you get the chance, please just politely let them know which way
is in and which way is out. That said, please be patient with what
is usually a very challenging situation rather than getting frustrat-
ed and upset. We have survived this before and we will survive
this again!
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding in this
matter.
Remembrance Day
November 11th is Remembrance Day. Our special assembly of re-
membrance will be held in the school gymnasium on Friday, No-
vember 7th at 10:30am. Please join us if you can. Make sure to
turn off your cell phone during the assembly, and take
off your hats.
All of our students receive a poppy and we encourage
them all to bring a small donation for the Legion.
A reminder that there is no school on November 8th
& 11th.
Please Note
Do not park around rectory garage.
Safe Environment Training
We will be holding a Safe Environment Session for ALL
parents who have not yet completed or need to renew
it. This is necessary for anyone who will be volunteer-
ing in our school. It is good for 5 years. The session
will be in the library on Wednesday, November 6th
from noon to 1:00pm.
Please call the school office to register (250-763-3371)
or email [email protected]

We are all Called to Be Saints
Come Learn about the Saints from Two Thousand Years of Our Church
Our Grade 7 students researched and created a poster that teaches others about the life of a saint from the history of our
Church. Every year our students share what they learned by dressing up as their saint and giving an interactive presenta-

It’s Fall Back Time!
This Saturday don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour or you could be a little early for mass on Sunday.
We Are A Nut Free School
Students are allowed to only bring two or three small treats per day
from their Halloween loot. It is extremely important that none of these
treats contain nuts.
Litter Free Lunch
St. Joseph School is committed to a litter free lunch. Litter free lunches at school are the best form of recycling. On average, a school-age child with a disposable lunch gener-ates approximately 30 kg (67 lbs) of waste per school year. That means that if your child has 25 students in his/her class, they are producing 737 kg (1,625 lbs) of waste each year. This is more weight than the average car...just imag-ine what a whole school produces! We ask that whatever comes in your child’s lunch bag goes home in their lunch bag, including empty juice boxes, food wrappers, and even hot lunch containers. In this way, we will create far less garbage at school and you will have a better idea of what your child is finishing for lunch.
St. Joseph’s Christmas Market
On Saturday, November 30th, our school will be hosting the 4th Annual St. Joseph’s Christ-mas Market. We are currently looking for vendors. And for any crafty kids, we are sell-ing smaller tables for Young Entrepreneurs. Please see the attached application for more details. Stay tuned for volunteer opportuni-ties.
