FINANCIAL REPORT

The amount of the March 18 collection was $12,756.72. Thank you for your generosity to St Gabriel’s.

The contrast between the processional reading in today’s liturgy and the proclamation of the Passion is striking. We are given a glimpse of how profoundly the word of God is fulfilled in Jesus. First he must be hailed as the Messiah, the One who is to come. He must be acknowledged by all, though they do not know what they are saying. They think he is the promised king, a worldly king of the Jews who will free them from the Roman occupation. They do not yet understand, even the disciples, exact-ly where this triumphal procession is leading. In our lives, we too do not know where we are going. It is in faith that we can follow Christ wherever he may lead us, trusting that death is not the end, nor evil the victor. Peace, Fr. Frank

Please join us for our Holy Week celebrations.

Lenten Movie – Risen Tuesday, March 27, 6:30 – 8:30,

at the Parish Center Meeting Room Lent is the time to be introspective about your relationship with Jesus. We are now offering you a Lenten movie, Risen, on Tuesday, March 27, 6:30 – 8:30, at the Parish Center

Meeting Room. Risen is a beautiful film portrayed from a Ro-man Tribune's (Clavius, played by Joseph Fiennes) perspective. Clavius witnesses the death of Jesus and is commanded by Caesar to investigate the reason for Jesus’ body disappearing from the tomb to assuage the upset Sanhedrin. It becomes a Roman CSI in which he interviews anyone connected to Jesus who might know why the body went missing. Clavius was compassionate enough to be open-minded to the testimonies of the people he interro-gates.

Come view this movie in a group so we can look through the eyes of Tribune Clavius and find Christ again in our lives as he search-es for Christ in his life. Some light snacks will be provided, in-cluding water, coffee, and tea; however, please feel free to bring your own drink and a snack to share if you would like!
