November we remember the

saints and souls of all who

have died. As St. Paul

teaches, love is eternal: it

endures when all else passes

away. This eternal love

compels us to keep our

loved ones in mind. The

Book of the Names of the Dead will be located

in the sanctuary and you are invited to write the

names of your loved ones who have died. The

Book will be included in our November liturgies.

Out of love, we recall and pray for our beloved

dead, hoping and trusting in God’s mercy to

welcome them into the glory of heaven. May all

of God’s people, past and present, continue to

share in God’s love now and forever.

Thank you! For taking the next step in your giving so that our parish will continue to grow

as a vibrant center of evangelization and missionary discipleship.

Prison Ministry

Civil liberties and human rights advocates have

called for an end to the practice of holding

federal and state prison inmates in solitary

confinement. The United Nations condemned it

as a degrading, inhuman form of abuse that

amounts to little more than torture by another

name, while the American Civil Liberties Union

calls it a violation of the 8th Amendment ban on

cruel and unusual punishment. This practice

makes it more likely that inmates will re-offend

when they get out.

Ride Needed for Parishioner

A parishioner needs a ride to rehab sessions in

Columbia. Sessions last 1 hour and no need to

stay. Please contact Tracey for more

information.

Wanted: Altar Servers!

Serve the Lord and your parish!

Attention all young people in grade 4-8! Have

you ever wanted to be an altar server? Serving in

the church is a special privilege. It allows us to

be close to the altar, to carry the cross, to carry

the light of Christ, to wear the robe of baptism,

to hold the book of prayers — and to swing the

thing that makes the smoke (the thurible)! In

order to become an altar server, you must

attend training sessions. Our next training

session is Saturday, November 19 at 2pm. To

register or for more information, call Berta at

410-792-0470 or email her at
