As an International Baccalaureate World School our goal is to provide a high quality education which encourages the development of skills to live and work with others globally, which is essential for life in the 21st Century.

Students who have been awarded the IB Diploma have earned as many as 36 college credits.

International Scholars Honors Program is a 4-year program which serves as a feeder into our IB Diploma curriculum. Students are selected based on their TACHS score and 6th, 7th and 8th grade transcripts.

Additional college credits are also available through Advanced Placement Courses and our partnership with St. John’s University. Our commitment to technology is unwavering as we upgrade our facilities to offer a one-to-one computing initiative, two technology labs and Smart Board technology in over 90% of our classrooms.

Travel Study opportunities are available to all Juniors and Seniors. Recent destinations include Ireland, Italy, Greece, France and Spain.

Student exchange partnerships exist with St. Edmund Girls’ School and Wyvern College in Salisbury, England and St. Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School in Brisbane, Australia.

Over 35 clubs and activities including dramatic and musical performances.

Three modern science laboratories, augment our science curriculum.

St. Edmund began as a 2-year commercial school training young women for clerical roles in the workforce. As women’s role in society changed, so did St. Edmund becoming a four year high school preparing young women for both college and the workforce. At this time a modern facility was built on Ocean Avenue. Most recently, St. Edmund became a co-educational institution, devoting itself to a college preparatory curriculum and governed by an independent Board of Trustees. A building expansion and acceptance into the International Baccalaureate program are further evidence of St. Edmund’s commitment to growth as an educational institution.

Looking to the future, St. Edmund Prep hopes to conquer new vistas and looks to invest in distance learning initiatives, a radio/TV station, and establishing an endowment to insure a bright future for our school.
