Pentecost

. Dear Friends and Parishioners, I hope and pray this finds you and your loved one’s safe and well. Please know of our prayers for all of you and our gratitude for your loyalty and support. As I noted in last week’s email, after much work and planning we will reopen for public Mass, next weekend (May 30/31), beginning with the 4pm vigil Mass. We still need more volunteers, contact our Deacon Matt by email: [email protected]

What are we being asked to do in order to reopen for Mass?

Not exceed 40% of our seating capacity; no more than 320 persons per Mass with safety pre-cautions

Maintain social distancing of 6 feet between persons of different households inside and out-side

Wear face coverings/masks while in church with the exception of children under 2 years and others for whom it is a health hazard. Masks for children between 2 – 5 is at the parents discre-tion

Use hand sanitizer upon entering the church. If you do not have your own, we will have some at the entrance of the church

Sit only in open benches and only in the areas of the bench marked with the blue tape; how-ever, members of the same household may sit together in larger numbers in the same bench

The Communion line will be in the center aisle with markings on the floor for social distancing. Receive Holy Communion in the hand, step off to the side where indicated, lower or take off your mask, consume the Eucharist, and return by the side aisle.

If you are sick or experiencing symptoms of illness do not come to church

If you are of vulnerable health you are encouraged to stay at home for your safety

Other changes you may notice

There will be no missals or other items left in the benches

There will be no choir, no congregational singing, no altar servers, no holy water fonts, no of-fertory procession or passing the collection basket. Parish offerings may be put in the box at the entrances of the church either before Mass or after Mass.

There will be no parish social gatherings before or after Mass for the near future

Absolutely no bringing in food, snacks or drinks inside the church.

The church will need to be sanitized between Masses (volunteers welcomed & trained)

You will see signs on floors marking safe distance requirements and directions Mass Schedule through the summer will change as follows: Saturday 4PM, Sunday 8AM,

10AM, 12 Noon (Spanish) and 5 pm. Please note that the 10 am Mass and the 12 Noon (Spanish) Mass will be live-streamed through YouTube.

Daily Mass will be at 7:00 am only.

Confessions through rectory porch window as follows: Wednesday (6 pm - 7 pm, Eng-lish), Saturday (3 pm - 3:45 pm, English), Sunday (after Spanish Mass, Spanish)

All of the above requirements will be needed for funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.

The Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be still available by the rectory window every day between 7 am - 8 pm for individual adoration, preferably in a car.

Lastly, please watch this video prepared by the Archdiocese which will help parishioners in re-turning to Mass. Spanish subtitles are available within the video. In addition, if you have not read, please read the re-opening guidelines from the Archdiocese: English version & Spanish version.

On behalf of myself, Fr. Chris, Deacon Matt and the other priests and staff, we are looking for-ward to seeing you back at Saint Columbkille’s. For future updates, go to our web-site, brightoncatholic.org.

God bless, Fr. Richard Fitz

Queridos amigos y feligreses:

12 mediodía (español) and 5PM.

San Columbkille. Para información adicional, vaya a nuestro sitio web, brightoncatholic.org

Que Dios los bendiga,

Padre Richard Fitz
