The St. Clair College Department of Athletics is proud to host the

2015 OCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship. Windsor and Essex

County has been a tremendous volleyball region and are looking

forward to showcasing the outstanding talents of the OCAA Men’s

Volleyball players.

Please find the following information that will assist you in your

preparations for the tournament.

OCAA Men’s Volleyball Provincial Championship 2015

General Information

GAME PROTOCOL

A public address announcer will handle all games played during

the championships. Introductions will include starting line-ups,

with coaches, manager and trainers. The National Anthem will

follow this and precede opening round and medal games. At the

conclusion of each game an award will be presented to the

‘Player of the Game’ from each team.

MARKETING & MEDIA

All available media will be informed of results as they

happen through press release. Leading up to the event,

invitations will be extended to cover the events as they take place.

will be providing in game and post-game results throughout the

Championship.

ACCREDITATION

Players, coaches and team officials will be provided with person-

alized neck accreditation at the Coaches meeting. Accreditation

pass entitles holder to ID, tournament pass, opening breakfast,

post-game team meals on Friday & Saturday along with free ac-

cess to all St. Clair Athletic facilities.

CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS BANQUET

The Championship Awards Breakfast Banquet will be held on

Friday, February 27, 2015 at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts. The

doors open at 8:15 AM and a breakfast will commence at 8:30

AM. Award Presentations will begin immediately following break-

fast. Dress code is Business Casual.

COACHES’ MEETING

The Coaches’ Meeting will be held at the host hotel. Light re-

freshments of coffee, tea, juice and fruit will be provided.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO STREAM

A Photographer will be on site for the duration of OCAA Champi-

onship Banquet and all tournament games. Teams will receive

CD’s of all photos and they will also be posted on the tournament

web site. All games will be live streamed at www.we-tv.ca


General Information

MEDICAL SERVICES

Kim Stroesser and Wayne Campbell will be providing Training

and Therapy assistance for the duration of the championships and

employing student assistants to be on site. Therapists with teams

are requested to check in with Kim and Wayne to go over the

Emergency Action Plan and services available. Students will be

available on the bench for teams who do not have one. Please

inform Kim or Wayne of medical conditions or inquiries that may

require attention. All athletes should be reminded to bring their

Health Cards and teams should have recipe cards that

include the athletes’ medical information. Teams are

requested to supply their own tape. If you have any

PLAYING SITE

All tournament games will be played at the new St. Clair College

SportsPlex on the feature gym court. The gym has a shaded fea-

ture volleyball court. The height of the gym suits FIVB internation-

al height requirements.

Each team will be given one of our 12 team rooms for the duration

of the event. Bleacher seating for 1100 is available plus running

track standing room and Saints Suite for VIP Guests.

A Concession area will be provided throughout tournament play.

General Information

HOSPITALITY & REFRESHMENTS

Athletes and coaches will have a post-game meal following their

scheduled games on Friday and Saturday in the classroom in the

Sportsplex. A coaches and VIP area will be set up throughout the

tournament in the Saints Suite.

SPECTATORS/SOUVENIRS

Day passes and tournament passes will be available. Spectators

will have the opportunity to purchase tournament gear on site.

AWARDS

Player of the Game Awards presentations will take place following

each game. Medals will be awarded after the Bronze and Gold/

Silver Games and be part of the post game presentations. A

Championship All-Star Team and MVP will be selected and

named following the Gold Medal Game. After the Gold Medal the

Presentation of the OCAA Banner and Championship Trophy will

be given to the Team Captains. Each Medal winning team will

have a photo taken following the presentation.

PRACTICE TIME

Qualifying teams will be given practice slots on Thursday, Febru-

ary 26th, 2015. 1-hour practice times which will be scheduled

based on final seeding and distance of travel.

The following practice schedule is for teams to take advantage of

if they wish. All of these practices are at the Main Campus in the

Classic Gym. Teams MUST notify Jay Shewfelt following their

match the day before if they will be using their allocated time.
