Easter is a Christian tradition that celebrates the belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the Sunday of all Sundays, the Feast of all feasts. The celebration where we commemorate the greatest act of God’s Love by giving His only begotten Son to fulfill His promise to save us from the curse of sin. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “the Resurrection of Jesus is the crowning truth of our faith. A faith believed and lived as the central truth by the first Christian community; handed on as fundamental by Tradition; established by the documents of the New Testament and preached as an essential part of the Paschal mystery along with the cross” (CCC 638). With this, it is easy to say that without Jesus who resurrected from the dead there is no Christianity. Yet this season also gives us hope that through the resurrection of Jesus we are given the gift of a greater reality—to live with God in eternal glory. May this Easter be a joyous season to celebrate our Christian faith. Happy Easter, Everyone! "He who labors as he prays lifts his heart to God with his hands." St. Benedict ST. WE ARE AN EASTER PEOPLE –Rejoice and Be GladA letter to the community by Rev. Fr. Conrad Amon

Celebrations, events, and activities come and go. As one goes, it pavesthe way for another. The Lenten Season makes room for Easter. Giventhis cycle, the more important thing is we listen to and understand itsmessage, and live our life according to its meaning. The Season of Lent is intense in recalling to us one great event inhistory. The Love of Jesus make Him embrace PASSION and DEATHFOR US. He offered Himself and His life to atone for our sins. Asupreme sacrifice of which may be difficult to understand — GODOFFERED HIS LIFE FOR ALL OF US. And so, the Lenten liturgychallenges us to “REPENT and BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL.” We arereminded of this when ashes were placed on our foreheads. The Lenten Season would reach its peak in the Holy Week, the Triduumof Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday. Jesus suffered anddied for our sins. Now, Lent is going, paving the way for EASTER. TheChurch would proclaim: Jesus did not remain under the power of death, hedefeated death, he resurrected . . . liberating us from sin and bringing us toeternal life. We are an EASTER People. Jesus Christ suffered, died and ROSEAGAIN. And we who died from our sinfulness through Him will also risewith Him in His glory. We are an EASTER People — REJOICE AND BEGLAD.

Rejoice in theResurrectionWritten by Therese Marie Santos

The Easter Vigil is agrand event filledwith anticipation forthe victory of ourSavior.

One can usually associate Easter with happiness: egg hunts are in orderand people can get back to their normal dietary routine withoutworrying about abstaining. In the Catholic Church, however, there is agreater reason to celebrate Easter: Jesus is alive! This celebration signifiesHis victory over death and sin; it is the fulfillment of the promises andprophecies made in the Old Testament. This is the moment when Jesus'earthly purpose is literally brought to completion. The Easter Vigil is agrand event filled with anticipation for the victory of our Savior; forsome converts, it is heavily symbolic, as they enter the new life ofCatholicism through the Sacrament of Baptism. Throughout theremaining weeks of March and April, we can magnify our awareness ofthe Reason for the Lenten Season as we continue to repent throughprayer, sacrifice, and alms-giving. Perhaps this awareness will bringabout more happiness when Easter time comes around.

Nakapag Misa na sa kapilya noong nakaraang fiesta at nakapagdaosng Stations of the Cross dito. God bless po sa ating lahat.

Ang Kapilya

Written by Fely Tumbaga Corpuz

St. Benedict Parish has always been a miraculous church for myfamily. Blessings, answered prayers, and much happiness abound. Welove attending mass and participating in parish activities. To say thiscommunity has become part of our lives is an understatement. When I was invited to serve, I was hesitant at first. As a flawed humanbeing, who was I to be of service? But God had other plans. Ieventually joined the Lectors, the Minstrels, and was givenresponsibility of editor in chief of this newsletter. A true labor of love, I am proud to say that everyone in the staff andthe contributors worked hard putting this together. We plan onsharing this space with you every month. We hope that you enjoyedthis first volume and will keep coming back for more.
