La Misa: Estructura y significado - (Fuente USCCB) Acto Penitencial

El acto penitencial sigue al saludo. Al comienzo de la Misa, los fieles

recuerdan sus pecados y depositan su confianza en la perdurable

misericordia de Dios. El acto penitencial incluye el Kyrie Eleison, una frase

griega que significa "Señor, ten piedad." Esta letanía recuerda las acciones

misericordiosas de Dios a lo largo de la historia. Los domingos,

especialmente en la temporada de Pascua, en lugar del Acta de Penitencia

acostumbrada, de vez en cuando puede darse la bendición y la aspersión de

agua para recordar el Bautismo.

The Mass : Structure and meaning

(Source USCCB) The Act of Penance

The Act of Penitence follows the greeting. At the very beginning of the

Mass, the faithful recall their sins and place their trust in God's abiding

mercy. The Act of Penitence includes the Kyrie Eleison, a Greek phrase

meaning, "Lord, have mercy." This litany recalls God's merciful actions

throughout history. On Sundays, especially in the Season of Easter, in place

of the customary Act of Penitence, from time to time the blessing and

sprinkling of water to recall Baptism may take place.
