    VISITATION OF OUR SICK

Ordinarily our sick and housebound parishioners

    are visited every First Friday.

    If you have a relative or friend not on this list;

but would want communion, please contact Deacon Steve.

    Trinity Sunday

    We are baptized

in the name of the Father,

    and of the Son

    and of the Holy Spirit.

    Sunday’s Readings

    Excerpts to think about

    First Reading

This is why you must now know, and fix in your heart,

that the LORD is God in the heavens above and on earth

below, and that there is no other. (Dt 4:39)

In the closing remarks of the speech delivered to the Israel-

ites in the desert, Moses reflects on God’s fidelity and love

for them. In return for God’s favor, the Israelites are in-

structed to keep God’s statutes and commandments. Why

do you think so many people are resistant to this divine

    expectation?

    Second Reading

Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into

fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption, through whom

we cry, “Abba, Father!” (Rom 8:14-15)

Paul sees the Holy Spirit as integral to our identity as

“children of God” and “joint heirs with Christ.” How do

you sense our Triune God at work in your life?

    Gospel

“And behold, I am with you always,

until the end of the age.” (Mt 28:16)

We hear today the closing words in the Gospel of Matthew

    — Jesus’ final commissioning of the disciples to evange-

lize and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy

Spirit. What insights to the nature of God does this divine

    relationship offer?

With the CDC lifting the indoor mask mandate for vaccinated people, the Archdio-

cese has lifted the mask requirement for mass attendees (although some may feel

more secure wearing a mask). We will not be asking anyone’s vaccination sta-

tus. However, since not all people are vaccinated, the social distancing (every other

pew) in our church will remain for now. Another new change is that hymnals and

Sunday’s Word are available to use in worship going forward.

Feast of the Visitation of Mary

    Monday, May 31st

    Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth!

Elizabeth, in her old age, bearing John the Baptist,

and Mary, in her virginity, bearing Christ the Lord!

In this event Mary is a model of work and prayer.

She went to visit her cousin

who was in need of assistance.

When the infant of Elizabeth’s womb

leapt for joy at Mary’s greeting,

    Elizabeth said of Mary:

“Blest is she who trusted that the Lord’s words to her would be fulfilled ” (Luke 1:45).

Then Mary sang out her solemn praise of God

in words which still echo every day

    throughout the Christian world

as part of the Church’s vespers / evening prayer.

Indeed, we pray to God with Mary,

who is a model for those who turn to God.

“My being proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit finds joy in God my savior,

for he has looked upon his servant in her lowliness; all ages to come shall call me blessed.

God, who is mighty, has done great things for me, holy is his name. His mercy is from age to age

on those who fear him ” (Luke 1:46-50).

We honor Mary by imitating her charity toward

Elizabeth and her prayer of praise to God.

    Mass at 8:00 a.m.

SOME SCRIPTURAL REFLECTIONS ON THE TRINITY

“The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will instruct you

in everything and remind you of all that I told you (John 14:26).

“Now that I am going back to the one who sent me, not one of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

Yet I tell you the sober truth; it is much better for you that I go. If I fail to go, the paraclete will never come to you,

Whereas if I go, I will send him to You” (John 16:5, 7).

“None of the rulers of this age knew the mystery; if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.

Of this wisdom it is written “‘Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it so much as dawned on us

what God has prepared for those who love him’”. Yet God has revealed this wisdom to us through the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:8-10). FATHER - SON - SPIRIT

    Memorial Day, Monday, May 31st

The last Monday of May is set

aside to remember and honor the

    living and deceased victims of

war. We pray for them as well as

for justice and peace, which today

    are so much needed throughout

    the world. Likewise, this holiday

begins the summer season in our society. We praise

and thank God for the beauty which surrounds us in

the warmth of this season. Enjoy this holiday week-

end and all of summer! Mass will be celebrated at

8:00 a.m. All are urged and welcome to memorial-

ize those who died for our freedoms!

M.Q.S.C.A.: We have two big announcements from the

school. First, MQSCA will be hosting a vaccine clinic at

the school on June 3, from 2 – 4 PM. It is open to anyone

ages 12 and up who wish to receive the COVID-19 vac-

cine. No appointments are necessary, just come to the

church doors and the health department will take care of the

rest. All neighbors, parishioners, students and parents are

welcome. Next, we are excited to announce that Nick

Lee has been named the new principal of MQSCA. Nick

has served as the principal at a fellow Seton school St. Ra-

fael for the previous two years. He is an experienced princi-

pal and as a West Allis native, he knows the community

well. We are excited that Nick will bring his familiarity

with the area and continue to create partnerships to grow the

school! We only have two weeks of school left, please con-

tinue to keep the school community in your prayers for a

strong finish to the 2020-2021 school year! In peace,

    Jen Vega, Principal
