The Missionaries of the Precious Blood On August 15, 2015, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.) will celebrate the 200th anniversary of their founding. Their members minister in our St. Augustine parish. This year, we will join in their celebration by sharing their story and

learning about their spirituality and mission. ***************************************************************************

While Fr. Francis Brunner, C.PP.S., was the acknowledged leader the first Missionaries of the Precious Blood to come to the United States in 1844, he did not make the journey alone. Fr. Brunner’s name is best known in the Congregation, but the others were

C.PP.S. Frs. Anthony Meyer, Martin Bobst, John Wittmer, Jacob Ringele, Peter Anthony Capeder, John Baptist Jacomet and John

Van den Broeck; and C.PP.S. brothers or students Peter Homburger, Henry Buesser, Peter Kreusch, Matthias Kreusch,

Fridolin Baumgartner, Aloysius Castrischer, Stephen Geschwind. Always, in the life of the Church, many labor in the

background to keep our faith flourishing! May God bless our spiritual leaders, and all those who work behind the scenes!

You have a wonderful Catholic heritage. Pass it on! Just as we insure financial health for our families, we must plan for

the health of our faith families. Your planned gift to the St. Augustine Catholic Parish Fund will provide financial support forever. You have a wonderful Catholic heritage. Pass it on!

Envelopes/checks & Loose Collection $ 7782.50

Automatic (Online) Giving (weekly average) $ 505.00

We need $6,025.00 to meet our weekly budget goals.

Thank you for your generosity!

The church office has received numerous calls asking how our parish family might assist Dirk & Becky Wiener, whose home was destroyed in a fire this past Sunday. Dirk told us that for the time-being, all they ask of us are our prayers. Thank you for your concern and heartfelt prayers as they work to sort out and rebuild their home.

Thank you to all the parishioners and families that have helped mulch and clean-up the flower-beds around the church and school. The youth group and their families did a marvelous job sprucing up the beds

along Angelica St. Thanks to Kris Dobson for coordinating that effort. There are a few beds that still need mulched, if you are

interested in helping, please contact the church office. We hope to have everything complete in the next week or two.

school year. We have openings in all grades, preschool through five. There is one class per grade in Kindergarten through five and

class sizes are limited. We offer three choices for preschool classes: two day morning preschool for ages 3-4, three day morning preschool for ages 4-5, and a five day afternoon Jr. Kindergarten for ages 4-5.

Contact Principal Anne Dumas at the school at 866-5480 or [email protected] for more info.

Parish Nurse Ministry Greetings. My name is Jocelyn Ventrello and I am the director of the new parish nursing program at St. Augustine. I am a 1999 graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing and currently work as a registered nurse in the cardiology department at IU Arnett in Lafayette.

I am excited to introduce the parish nursing concept at St. Augustine and feel it will be a valuable addition to our community. A parish nurse (PN) is an experienced registered nurse that works in a faith community to address health concerns of its members as well as those in the broader community or neighborhood. I will be holding information sessions on May 16th after 5PM mass and May 17th after 10AM mass. Both information sessions will be located in the cry room/adoration chapel and are open to everyone. If you are interested in helping with the parish nursing program, I will be more than happy to speak with you at either of these meetings. I look forward to seeing you and answering any questions you may have.

Herman Nagel Server Awards A few years back, a group of Parishioners created a program to honor and reward our high school senior class servers that have continued to serve

mass throughout their entire high school career. These awards are known as the Herman

Nagel Server Awards in recognition of Herman Nagel who served St. Augustine his entire life. Our goal is to provide each recipient a

$500 award at the graduation mass in late May. If you are interested in helping support this program, contact Cheryl Hillan

(866-3912), Marvin Nagel (394-2464) or Marty Park (863-1768). Your financial support is appreciated.
