WELCOME TO
ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA
CATHOLIC CHURCH
September 27, 2020, Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time: Ez 18:25-28 / Phil 2:1-11 / Mt 21:28-32 Today’s parable presents us with two sons, neither of whom is perfect. One son is a bit defiant, and the other has no follow-through. What if we replaced the word “Son” with “Disciple,” and placed ourselves in the passage? Obviously, the perfect disciple is the one who confidently says YES and goes and does the work set before him, but most of us are not perfect in our discipleship. There is not much use for a disciple who agrees to do the work, but then doesn’t. However, the disciple who grumbles and says, “I will not,” but then changes his mind and does this work…here is a worker with potential! God isn’t looking for eager lip service, He needs hard workers. As missionary disciples, we should all strive to be the “perfect” worker who wants nothing more than to cooperate with God’s plans in this world. Pray that God will bring such growth to your spirit. Have the courage to say yes and then ask the Holy Spirit to walk with you as you “go out and work in the vineyard today.”

Donate our coins or cash to promote respect for life. A little bit of change can mean big change for pro-life education and action! Beginning Sunday, Oc-tober 4, Kansans for Life change boxes will be available at the church entrances of St. Anthony’s and St. Mary’s. Then on Sunday, October 25 bring them back and place them into the containers with the Kansans for Life sign. The donations made will be sent off to the Wichita loca-tion of Kansans for Life.
PSR Classes will be held at their regular times this week.
Questions for Faith Sharing The theme for this Sunday’s readings is: It’s not enough to merely say you believe. You must also live your faith. Question for Adults: How and when were you like each of the sons in the Gospel? Question for Youth: Today’s parable reminds us that it isn’t what we say that counts as much as what we do. How would someone know you are a Christian through your actions?
Let us pray that we will choose to follow the teachings of Jesus in word and deed.
“If God is the center of your life, no words are necessary. Your mere presence will touch hearts.”
~ St. Vincent de Paul
A Note of Thanks We are a few weeks in to our high school PSR and CYM programs. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the parents and youth. All of the students are coming with bright eyes and good attitudes! They are following our guidelines with wear-ing masks, temperature checks and social distance rules. We are incredibly thankful that we are still able to meet, pray and be together during these "different" times. Keep up the great work everyone!

Abortion Violates the Laws of God
We need to review certain facts. First of all, the most beautiful thing a woman can be is a mother. Only women have the power to popu-late God’s earth and women are the ones who nurture and cherish their children.
But, sad to say, the most dangerous place on Earth today is the womb of a mother. That is because of legalized abortion – a vicious tak-ing of a life. We need to take the blinders off our eyes and see the horrendous evil that is abortion. It is an abomination in God’s eyes.
There is absolutely no government, no law and no man that can override or veto God’s law.
Get the facts. Do not believe the lies from the abortion industry. Don’t be fooled into believing it’s just tissue in the womb. It’s a baby.

Please Welcome Fr. Augustin Temu Fr. Temu will speak at all Masses this weekend on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach which was founded to crate a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priest and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Please be generous in your response to Father’s appeal. Brochures will be provided if you wish to support this worthy Catholic ministry.
Annual October Counts As is our custom we will once again be doing the “October counts” throughout the month. However, since we are currently not doing offertory processions, the process will be just a bit different. At the same time as we would normally do the collection, the ushers will come to the front of the church and begin their counts, working towards the back of the church as they have in the past. Additionally, one of the ushers will need to do the counting in Franciscan Hall downstairs where the overflow seating is located. Thank you.
Mass Time Change Starting Saturday, October 3 the 5:30 p.m. Mass will be moved up to 4:30 p.m. Confessions will start at 3:00 p.m. and end at 3:45 p.m.
