“All the communities of the earth shall find blessing in you.” How are we a blessing to the communities of

the earth? We know that members of St. Anthony’s volunteer and bless the community that we live in by helping at

the Senior Citizens Center, and the Black House, and the Museum. We have volunteers that help children in crisis,

accompany them as big brothers and big sisters, and protect them as court appointed advocates. Our businesses and

farms donate to many different charitable organizations. It is easy to point out the many different ways we become

blessing to the community of Hereford, TX, USA.

How do the communities of the earth find blessing in us? Definitely through the gifts of our finances and

expertise to the many different organizations that we support. Some are very close to home like the Downtown

Women’s Center, to very far way, the second collection for the Church in Africa. Maybe we support the school for

the deaf begun by a catholic student from WTAMU. Our support may be expressed in letters to international pen

pals. Maybe our words of connection, friendship, and support written and sent around the world building up the

other a word at a time. Our blessing of the communities of the earth is carried out in the work of our prayer. Every

time we come together as Children called and chosen by the most high God, our savior worship, makes right little

bits of wrong. We speak forgiveness into the world and so it happens. We speak grace and healing and they are cast

into the world as tongues of flame changing everything they touch for the better. We become blessing primarily be-

cause we have become Christians. Who we are is ever much more important that what we can do. Today and every

day we should speak blessing, we should become blessing, we should bless the world around us by our good pres-

ence.

From the desk of our pastor, Father Tony Neusch.
