GOD’S HEALING JUSTICE An old expression holds that the sun-warmed stone heals. Perhaps. But Malachi explains that only dark, sun-less days are in store for those who do not find a place for God in their lives. Conversely, he tells us that the warmth and light of God’s healing justice await those who fear the Lord. That’s a pretty comforting notion—especially now in the already short and growing even shorter days of No-vember. It’s the sun-warmed stone, and then some. Paul speaks to us of justice as well, but points out that it is not a passive thing. To be treated justly, we need to do our fair share. If we are diligent and perse-vere we will be rewarded with and by the fruits of our labor. Lastly, Luke, too, tells us to persevere—in faith, this time—and our lives will be secure in God regardless of how we are treated by our enemies.

CCHD’s grants improve education, support economic de-velopment, and create affordable housing in low-income neighborhoods. Tour of Peace The World Apostolate of Fatima's Centennial U.S. Tour for Peace is

underway and coming to Benton. The historic tour, marking the 100th anniversary of the ap-paritions of Our Lady at Fatima, will feature the world-famous International Pilgrim Virgin Statue, traveling world-wide for nearly 70 years. Our Lady of Fatima Church in Benton is hosting the tour on November 30. She will arrive between 9-10 am, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. in the church. We will also have a candlelight procession and rosary with Our Lady of Fatima at the courthouse in the evening at 6:30 p.m. to send her on her way. It will be an extraordinary occasion of healing, hope and grace. Please join us that day to hear the story of Fatima and venerate this beautiful statue that set out from Fatima in 1947 to bring the graces of Fatima to all who might not ever be able to make a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal. We bring the pilgrimage to you! Hundreds and favors and graces, including cures, and countless conversions are associated with the image. The presence of this special statue (sculpted by Jose Thedim in 1947, based on Sr. Lucia's description of her encounters with Our Lady) is a great gift to our community.
