Founded in 1947, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is an independent, college preparatory school for students in pre-K3 through 12th grade. The school seeks a Chief Technology Officer to lead its campus-wide technology operations and strengthen both academic and administrative technology as we fulfill Our Vision for the Future:

“In 2021 St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is a beacon of educational innovation, inclusivity, and wellness, empowering generations of Saints to impact the world.”

St. Andrew’s is known for academic excellence, providing emphasis on and cultivating the critical thinking skills needed to excel. The School helps each student explore his or her individual interests and strengths, and then teaches students how to build on those unique gifts for success not only at St. Andrew’s, but also in college, in a career, and in life.

Valuing diversity, St. Andrew’s welcomes students of any race, color, religion, nationality, or ethnic origin. Typically, 100% of graduates attend four-year colleges and universities. Students in pre-K3 through grade 4 attend classes on the St. Andrew’s South Campus in Jackson, while students in grades 5-12 meet 10 minutes away at the school’s North Campus in Ridgeland.

Both a big picture thinker as it relates to emerging technologies and a hands-on implementer, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will engage with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and students to extend responsible and creative use of technology. The CTO must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, and the enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain instructional momentum in the appropriate

use of technology. First among these will be the responsibility for implementing all aspects of i2: Inspire and Innovate, a school wide educational movement that builds upon the school’s long history of innovation and which seeks to ensure that a St. Andrew’s education continues to meet or exceed the standard found at other leading independent schools nationally.

St. Andrew’s approach to education strives to balance the pursuit of excellence in key areas – academics, arts, athletics, and “glocal” service – with a firm commitment to moral responsibility, spiritual growth, and lifelong learning and wellness. Informed by educational neuroscience and best practices in independent schools, the School’s approach to education focuses on right-sizing challenges and opportunities for each student while maintaining high standards for all. The St. Andrew’s approach to education is age-appropriate, both in terms of meeting the varying developmental needs of young people and in terms of helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and perspectives that will best prepare them for their futures, including being able to creatively and collaboratively solve problems with people from different backgrounds and cultures on our increasingly interconnected and populated planet.

As a member of the Malone Schools Online Network, St. Andrew’s offers all of its students classes found at no other school in Mississippi. Students have access to a variety of classes and courses taught by instructors at independent schools across the country, allowing them to pursue learning in subjects like Arabic, medical bioethics, organic chemistry, advanced mathematics as applied to finance, and more.

On average, 78% of students in grades 7-12 participate in at least one of the School’s 25 sports programs. Other extracurricular activities include student government, student publications, band, choir, theater, speech and debate, mock trial, and other programs of special interest. Through the St. Andrew’s Peer Leadership program, 16 seniors are selected through a highly-competitive process to serve as mentors to freshman throughout the school year.

A bustling metropolis and capital of the state of Mississippi, Jackson has a population of around 165,000. In its heyday, Jackson was the soul of the American music industry. Renowned R&B, blues, and jazz singers flocked to the city’s studios to record their albums. Today, this city is leading the charge for the state’s arts, culinary, and cultural progression. Unlike many places undergoing revitalization, Jackson has maintained much of its distinct Southern charm, a characteristic drawing new chefs, artists, and other movers and shakers to this region. The city is an affordable, historical, and hospitable place to live.

Residents may explore a variety of cultural experiences in Jackson, including orchestras, theaters, ballet, art museums, zoo, Mississippi’s Children’s Museum, and the new Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. Nicknamed “The City with Soul,” Jackson is the home of Malaco Records, one of the leading record companies of gospel, blues, and soul, and the city cultivates soulful, talented musicians.

Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, and even sailing on several bodies of water in Jackson, such as the Ross Barnett Reservoir. For sports fans, the Mississippi Braves – the Atlanta Braves’ (AA) farm team – play baseball in the suburb of Pearl. Meanwhile, the Mynelle Gardens and the Jackson State University Botanical Garden offer a more relaxing outdoor experience.

Nestled just north of Jackson, the city of Ridgeland is a haven for individuals and families seeking convenient access to the vibrant economy and rich cultural tapestry of Mississippi’s largest metropolitan area. Residents prosper in a community that offers the best of both worlds: a robust economy combines with a small-town way of life to make Ridgeland a great place to live and work. The city is known for close-knit communities and family-oriented neighborhoods, sizable parks, and plenty of recreational opportunities. Shopping, fine dining, community events, and festivals are all part of the Ridgeland experience. With a high quality of life, the city’s residents are proud of their welcoming and vivacious community.
