In October St. Andrew the Apostle will conduct our Baby Bottles for Life campaign to benefit, support and educate pregnant women facing crisis or unintended pregnancies. The funds collected through the Bottles for Life campaign support the programs and services of the Waterleaf Medical Clinic and Education and Resource Center in Aurora. Waterleaf provides practical help; pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment as well as continuing education and support for women in our community who would otherwise be at risk for choosing abortion. Last year with the support of churches like St. Andrew, Waterleaf provided 1,718 client appointments, performed 504 pregnancy tests, 563 ultrasounds and rescued 101 babies. Baby bottles will be distributed to parishioners on the weekend of Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th to take home and fill with spare change, cash, a check or a prayer. Bottles can be returned at any of the Masses through Sunday, October 20th. There will be a basket in the vestibule of Church where you can leave your baby bottle. Please make checks payable to Waterleaf. Your support is greatly appreciated. This fundraiser is a great way for each member of the family to help in building a Culture of Life. Thank you in advance for your response to the call of the Gospel to serve those in great need! May the Child Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of His Mother, Mary, bless and protect you and your loved ones! For more information, call Waterleaf at 630-701-6270 or visit them on the web at www.onechoiceonelife.org.

In today’s Gospel we see that prudent decisiveness means that we recognize all of our choices in daily living are really choices for eternal life. Admission into heaven is something money can’t buy. The only currency that has any value to secure our entrances is that of love. Your September donations to our St. Vincent de Paul society are so gratefully received and utilized lovingly to assist families who are struggling to meet life’s many challenges. Our St. Andrew collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Society this September amounted to $2251.36.
THANK YOU!

Feast Day of St. Padre Pio Monday, September 23
Gracious God, you generously blessed your servant, Padre Pio, with the gi s of the Spirit. You marked his body with the five wounds of Christ Crucified, as a powerful witness to the saving Passion and Death of your Son, and as a s rring inspira on to many people of your infinite mercy, forgiveness, and love. In the confessional, Padre Pio labored endlessly for the salva on of souls. Through his powerful intercession, many who suffered were healed of sickness and disease. Endowed with the gi of discernment, he could read people’s hearts. From the blood of his wounds came a perfumed fragrance, a special sign of your Holy Presence. With dignity and intense devo on, he celebrated daily Mass, invi ng countless men and women to a greater union with Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Through the intercession of Saint Pio, I confidently beseech you to grant me the grace of (state your pe on here.) Help me to imitate his example of prayerful holiness and compassion, so that I, too, may faithfully follow the Risen Lord, and one day rejoice in the Kingdom, where you live and reign forever and ever. Amen

Legion of Mary News
The Legion of Mary will once again be holding a candlelight rosary vigil during the month of October. These vigils will be held on Monday the 7th, 21st, and 28th. We will start at 7:00 PM and process around the grounds praying the rosary for your intentions. If you have a specific intention you would like us to pray for, a box will be in the narthex of the main church where you can drop them in. Please come out and join us. It’s a beautiful experience. If we encounter inclement weather, we will hold our vigil in the St. Francis room. On the 14th we will not have a rosary procession but, as always, we will pray the rosary at 8:00 PM when we hold our Holy Hour for Priests. Please come join us.
