OBJECTIVES:

Bootcamp which create the Innovative Eecosystem among the Students

During this one week, participants got the opportunity to explore Creative Thinking, Innovation Process,Problem Solving, Exploration through various sessions conducted by Experts, Innovation, and Technology – all with Fun. They havealso came across the technologies like 3D printing, VR, Fab-Lab. They have visited a different engineering workshops, JIM- Japan Institute of Management, Ship in campus and Marine simulation lab to get the industrial experience. Students have been provided many task and problems which they have to find the solutions.

They have to present their ideas in front of experts and chief guest at the end of the bootcamp.

INAUGURAL OF BOOTCAMP

Shri Kiri Laxminarayan, Principal of School, GNU welcomed all the kids to the bootcamp and appreciated them for participating in the bootcamp

Prof. Saurabh Dave, Dean of Incubation Centre and Student Startup Policy encouraged participants to think big - think different, innovate things differently and deal with the solutions. He motivated the participants by saying that the ecosystem of Innovation and Start-up created at GNU would always open to support their ideas and encourage them that their young minds should always be having persistence to utilize this ecosystem availed for nurturing the innovation by GNU. He also said the participants that the main building of any innovation is starts from Design Thinking.He encourage the students to participate in different task and try to complete the tasks with fun and enjoy.

DAY 1: ICEBREAKING SESSION AND INTRODUCTION TO INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY On Day 1 of Bootcamp after the

inaugural function the students came across the introductory part of the innovation and creativity. Prof.Saurabh Dave gave them a task to think problems in our day to day life. Each students asked to select 10 problems happens in our day to day life and find out the solutions. At the end of the session students came up with a different problems and solutions and presented their views.

In session 2 Prof.Saurabh Dave and Mr.Axay Patel gave a task to the students that if they met their friend in airport after 20 years then how they react, the meeting should a some code language. Very playfully all the teams have presented a different code of hand shaking and meeting code. All participantsalong with their teachers enjoyed the exercises

Day 2: DESIGN THINKING

Day 2 session 1 started with a students views on different solutions of the problems and present 1 min presentation on it.

In session 2 Ms. Akashi Baruah gave them a task to make and design anything of their interest for her Mother or Teacher within half n hour. Students made a very beautiful cards, Marker Pen, rose, wallet etc. with a short note and message with it. Sessions completed with full of joy and experience to complete a task within limited time.

DAY 3 : LEARN FOR VR AND ITS APPLICATIONS

Kids were explored the VR Technology on Day 3 by the teamFrom Kacchhua Education Services, Mehsana.

Topics are how these technologies work, various applications, materialsused in 3D printing, programing behind VR were discussed. Kacchhua team have also demonstrated the VR technology to the students.They have experienced the different science topics from the VR. These hands-on session onabove technologies were enjoyed by kids a lot.

In session 2 Ms. Akashi Baruah and Mr.Axay Patel gave them task to think about the problems of their interest and teach them to design the solutions.

All the kids have selected the problems in Pollution, Waste Management, Women Safety, Health Care, etc.

DAY 4: INNOVATION AND YOU:LEARN ABOUT 3D PRINTING AND ITS APPLICATION

DAY 5: VISIT TO DIFFERENT WORKSHOPS

On Day 4, kids were explore and learnt about the 3D printing technology and its application. Mr. Achuyt Trivedi from Gandhinagar and the Phd pursuing in the field of 3D Printing technology teach them the uses of 3D printing in various fields like Jwellery making, Chocalate making , The Statue of Liberty. He explained them that how to desing a prototype before printing and discussed with them the softwares which are used in 3D printing designing.

Kids have experience the hands-on experience by designing a 3D model pen. After the end of the session many students asked the queries regarding 3D printing like: What filament can be used, how to decide the size of the model, at what time model is completed, what is its input and output, how colour is decided for any model, etc.

Mr. Achyut solved all the queries of the students. Also gave the some examples of it. Session is completed with lot of experience and joy for the students.

On Day 5: Students have visited Engineering workshops, fab lab situated in campus. They have also visited JIM- Japan Institute of Management, Ship-in campus, Marine simulation lab and explore the industrial experience. They have also visited Incubation Centre

DAY 6: CERTIFICATION DAY

One week long Design Bootcamp which was started on 8th July came to end on 13th July after fun-filled and rigorous training on Creativity andInnovation using Design Thinking approach. Hon’ble Shardhaben Patel was the chief guest visited the bootcamp for certification and encourage the students. Prof.Saurabh Dave encourage the students and congratulate them for their participation during the Bootcamp. Students and teachers were appreciated with certificate distributed by the chief guests.

Four teams were selected for the Certificate of Achievement for their contribution and innovations.

During this one week bootcamp, kids were empowered with Design Thinking process, tools, knowledge and mentoring to solve real life issues around us and these kids were identified six problems in their respective teams. All teams have presented their ideas to experts during the bootcamp and received feedback to further improve upon it. Four team were selected for their contributions and problem solutions.They are Diamond group, Rock 8, Smart Group, and Science queens.

At the end of the bootcamp students showed their projects and task they have made during the bootcamp to all the Chief Guests. They motivated the students and suggested that how they create their ideas into products.

Bootcamp is ended with the group photograph with the Hono’ble Shardhaben Patel , Prof.Saurabh Dave, Shri Kiri Laminarayan, Ms.Akashi Baruah, Mr.Axay Patel along with the students and the teachers.
