Aims• To provide a broad understanding of how ICT can help
assessment
• To look at the key components eg method and approach
• To understand the range of solutions related to the needs of recording, access to the curriculum and communication
Objectives• To know what tools to use in an assessment• To understand some of the issues surrounding
the need for assessment• To plan a realistic approach• To skill the SENCO in identifying need to SARF
for ICT help• To engage in activities that raise the main issues
ICT SEN Assessment Process• SARF - consider any evidence of the pupil's work
- use your professional judgement• Discussion with the SENCO/Classteacher(if
possible)/TA• Assessment• Report• Follow-up

• Is there a way the school can organise small groups to use technology so that the pupil isn't being highlighted as different?
• Is the technological solution cool enough!! The wow factor - eg iPads at the time of writing.?
