Swami's message from Sai Vaani
To see your face in a mirror do you need anybody’s help?
Why do you need anyone’s friendship for this purpose?
To view the moon in the sky do you need a lamp?
To look at the moon shining in the sky do you require any other source of light?
To know your own Atma why do you need a Guru?
~A poem written by Swami when he was seven.
Special Thank you
The SSE Team 2013-‐2015 thanks all parents and volunteers for all their support. We also wish to thank the SSE newsletter team for their wonderful work. A special note of thanks to young Bhavana Sistla for her tireless effort in ensuring the timely release of these newsletters. Lastly well done to all our children and we are so grateful to Swami and so humbled to have worked along side our very talented and precious children.
Message from the SSE Regional Coordinator
My humble pranams at the lotus feet of my divine Guru and God. Om Sri Sai Ram. This is the last issue from the SSE team 2013-‐2015. Over the past few months, the SSE children across Victoria East have participated in; a SSE camp, theatrical movie production, the SSE Sports, Akhanda Bhajans and Baba’s Birthday celebrations. The children undertook various personal sadhana (spiritual practices) plans for Swami’s 90th year of Advent.
As the SSE Team 2013-‐2015 says goodbye, I wish to thank all SSE Coordinators, SSE teachers and Bro Ravi Seth for their commendable efforts in choosing the inconvenient road and prioritising the interest of the children above their own.
I thank dearest Swami for this beautiful opportunity to have lived in constant reminder of His presence these past two years. I now welcome Sis Chitra on board and pass the baton to her. We have every confidence that she will give her absolute best to our divine master and His children.

WHY FEAR WHEN I AM HERE PUT ALL YOUR FAITH IN ME
I SHALL GUIDE YOU & GUARD YOU.
This is what SWAMI says and I was instantly reminded of this statement when I was approached to take up the role of EDUCATION COORDINATOR for Berwick Sai Centre almost two years ago. I was hesitant and afraid to take this position.
I LOVE SWAMI but I didn’t have CONFIDENCE. I thought that there are so many devotees who have been in the organization longer and who know more than me and would be better than me for the position.
SWAMI'S words made me think again. I told myself that if I have FAITH in him then there should be no FEAR in my heart. I took the position and I am extremely glad that I did.
Education Wing was AWESOME! GREAT TEAM! Zone Education Coordinator was a role model, always a smile on her face, calm, cool & collected IRRESPECTIVE of any difficulties we faced.
I feel BLESSED & PRIVILEGED to be part of SAI FAMILY. YES, I found that by taking up Education Coordinator Position, I have found MY FAMILY. Everyone I have met or worked with through this position have been so nice. I am HAPPIER. I am learning SWAMI'S TEACHINGS continuously & trying to put his human values into action.
It is a great feeling to gather SWAMI'S TEACHINGS & IMPART & SHARE WITH ALL to bring out the DIVINITY in YOURSELF along with others.
I hope to continue to SERVE in any way I can with a lots of love, smile on my face and new found Confidence.
Thank you to Swami & Everyone.

Swami’s Divine Love Swami enacted a drama for us instead of us enacting a drama for him. So we were on our way to Jells Park to record some of the scenes in the movie LIFE IS A SONG SING IT. It started to rain when we reached Jells Park. We had lunch whilst waiting for the rain to stop. However, the rain did not stop. Getting back to the cars was very difficult. We all gathered under a huge mat and walked with the mat over our heads to the car park. It was like the way all the cow herds of Brindvana gathered under the mountain for shelter. Imagine the Lord seeing this, for Him this all is just a drama. So now we decided that we should go to the lake near one of the auntie’s houses. When we reached there, all of a sudden it stopped raining and the sun came out and it was all bright and sunny and it had all the props we needed like the crops for the farm scene and a lake for a lake scene. See how loving our Swami is to us. We must thank our Sai Ma for her divine love.
Om Jai Sairam!
Anvita, Group 2
In groups 1a and 1b of Boxhill/Nunawading SSE, Victoria, we kept it simple. Each child was given a 96 page exercise book and we all made the promise of; Writing "Om Sai Ram" on each page 90 times every day, for 90 days leading up to Baba's 90th birthday. The Om Sai Ram books were collected in our last class on 21/11. The books will be placed at Baba's feet on his 90th birthday for blessings after which we intend to send it to Parthi for vibhuthi wrapping. ********************************************************************************* Group 2 were asked to complete the attached booklet. Each day they wrote down one good thing that they or others can do and write down God's name 3 times.

Group 0 are chanting Gayathri mantra daily for the 90 days leading up to Swami's birthday.
Group Sadhana-‐ Group 3 and 4
1) Weekly breathing meditation in SSE class
2) 1 selfless service act each week – random acts of kindness
3) Likitha japam – everyday “Aum Sri Sai Ram”
My Sadhana... (My greatest wealth) When we went to our SSE class one bright Saturday, we were told that there were exactly 90 days for Bhagavan’s birthday. This made me thoroughly excited and I made up my mind to do at least one act I could to offer HIM personally with love. Personally, there was no venture on my part to undertake any Sadhana. Hence, thinking it would be a good chance to determine myself to offer something-‐ I took the opportunity; to chant his name. I have heard in many of Swami’s discourses that the best way to experience the lord in Kali age is through Namasmarana. So, every day after my shower my routine would consist of going to the prayer room, sitting and chanting 21 Omkaars, Sai Suprabatham, 108 names of Bhagavan, 21 Gayathris and Mantra Pushpam. Thankfully, the Suprabatham was already known to me as I had to chant for the SSE camps. This helped me chant without looking at the book and concentrate more on the lord. I am going to continue doing this as a part of my daily routine. When I ride my scooter to
school, I sing bhajans. I found out that singing bhajans on my way to school helped me reach in no time! Another experience I had was that I could entirely grasp the 108 names of Bhagavan in less than 2 weeks. On a normal basis, it would take me some time to learn and absorb things, but I figured out that Swami is indeed Kaala Atheethaya (The one who has control over time). He can make 10 years seem like 1 year and 1 year seem like 10. Doing this Sadhana has also helped me in my studies and other activities as I am able to focus more. To conclude, I am very happy that Swami has given me an opportunity to do something to help me progress more spiritually in life. I want to make this a regular routine so I remember HIS name wherever I go.

Gayathri Manthra… My humble pranams at the lotus feet of our dear Bhagawan. Sai Ram All!
As we eagerly await the auspicious 90th birthday of our dear Lord, I am sure many of us are putting our own sadhana plans into action. In this article, I would like to speak about my personal sadhana plan. My plan was to chant the Gayatri mantra three times every morning. Even chanting the Gayatri mantra once can have an impact on the person chanting but chanting it in the morninge makes it especially potent. The morning is a sathwic period of the day, which is when the mind, body and soul are undisturbed and peaceful. Chanting the Gayatri mantra at this time multiplies the effect. I try to chant the mantra every morning before school and on weekends after I wake up. After chanting it, I feel energised and ready to face the day. I also found that it increased my concentration during the day and I felt light. The Gayatri mantra is indeed a very powerful mantra and can be chanted by anyone, any number of times and at any time in the day or night. It is also a good way to start a practical routine for prayer and will definitely have a positive impact on not only the person chanting, but also others.

“The end of education is character” We hear these words every so often but little do we realise the true meaning behind it. As a new year approaches, so does the opportunity arise once again, to refine our character. My Sadhana plan for 2015, this coming year, is to give equal importance to God as we do to our education. I know that the older I get, the focus on my education will increase. This means,, I need to further ensure that I spend the same amount of time attending those few sessions we have with swami, throughout the week, as I do performing other tasks. Swami helps us in so many instances and it is our duty to go to those places where he is spoken of, that being the bare minimum. I believe that endorsing in the chanting of the Gayathri mantra, meditating, help me in both my studies and in the spiritual sense. The meditation is known to help increase concentration levels, plus it's an opportunity to think of God! What could be better! I know that by taking these small steps towards swami, our lives will become much more happy. Even if a person has all the knowledge and all the wealth in the world it doesn't always go to say that he has a good character. After all, a true human being is determined by the gunas he posses not by how many gold coins he has.
