Mad(k)e Weak by time and fate
But Strong in Will,
To Strive, to seek, to find…
and not to yield” - Tennyson.
From the Editorial Board:
In the recent scenario, the role of the citizens of India is multi-faceted. Each one should aim at great domain. The domain which is not a simple confined. It is a multi-dimensional. Each individual should have different manifolds such as education, sports, socio-economic, public-relationship, inter personal skills, soft skills etc. Unless a man develops these qualities, the entire manhood remains obsolete. Commitment is more important than being apart. Accomplishment is more important than supplementing. Attachment is more important than detachment. Adjustment is more important than adamant. Involvement is more important than negligence. Totally, humane is more important in all respects. The greatest of the greatness can be achieved only through the sustained practice of all the human qualities. A learner is the one who learns the matters adequately and transforms it to others. A sports man is the one who involves in the sports activities and gets the name and fame through his sportsmanship. A very good person is one who maintains the relationship with love and affection with all the people. A business man is the one who fulfills the needs of the customer. A humanitarian is the one who exhibits the qualities like mercy, love, kindness, hope and all optimistic characters. With these few words, I pose my appeal to all the students of our college to come up with flying colours in all your academic and life endeavours.

A Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network or VANET is a technology that uses moving cars as nodes in a network to create a mobile network.
VANET turns every participating car into a wireless router or node, allowing cars approximately 100 to 300 metres of each other to connect and, in turn, create a network with a wide range.
As cars fall out of the signal range and drop out of the network, other cars can join in, connecting vehicles to one another so that a mobile Internet is created.
It is estimated that the first systems that will integrate this technology are police and fire vehicles to communicate with each other for safety purposes.
Example:
We can understand VANETs as subset of MANET and best example of VANET is Bus System of any University which are connected. These buses are moving in different parts of city to pick or drop students if they are connected, make a Ad hoc Network

Architecture of VANET:
Applications:
GPS and navigation systems can benefit, as they can be integrated with traffic reports to provide the fastest route to work. A commuter can turn a traffic jam into a productive work time by having his email downloaded and read to him by the on-board computer, or if traffic slows to a halt, read it himself.
It would also allow for free, VoIP services such as GoogleTalk or Skype between employees, lowering telecommunications costs.
Future applications could involve cruise control making automatic adjustments to maintain safe distances between vehicles or alerting the driver of emergency vehicles in the area.
To support message differentiation in VANET, IEEE 802.11e standard is incorporated in vehicular communication.

The field of instrumentation includes the science and art of measurement, control, and process
manipulation. Specifically, instrumentation is the technology of creating, constructing, and maintaining
the measuring and controlling devices and systems that equip the manufacturing plants and research
institutions so vital to today’s expanding economy. Variables measured include temperature, pressure,
flow, liquid level, velocity, density, and many others.
Role of an Instrumentation Engineer
• An Instrumentation Engineer typically work for industries with automated processes, such as
chemical or manufacturing plants, with the goal of improving system productivity, reliability,
safety, optimization, and stability.
• To control the parameters in a process or in a particular system, devices such as microprocessors,
microcontrollers or PLCs are used, but their ultimate aim is to control the parameters of a system.
• The Instrumentation Technology, being an inter-disciplinary branch of engineering, is heading
towards development of new & intelligent sensors, smart transducers, MEMS Technology, Blue
tooth Technology.
• The automation systems in the production are rapidly being enhanced and the demand for highly
skilled instrumentation engineers is on the rise.
• In the instrumentation systems manufacturing sector, the demand for well trained process control
engineering graduates is always present. This BE (EIE) course provides Instrumentation students
with sound theoretical & practical training in the operation and design of electronic instruments,
digital logic systems, and computer based automatic process control & instrumentation, &
automatic control system design, etc.
• To meet the industrial requirements of future, students are also made to become well versed with
personal computer applications in Instrumentation, Process Control Systems Design, PLCs, DSP
Architecture & Design, Microprocessors and Microcontroller System Design & Experimentation,
Industrial Electronics & Applications.
• Moreover Instrumentation being one of the most important sought branches in Industrial point of
view, a combination of Electronics and Instrumentation would fetch high dividends for the
students who take up Electronics and Instrumentation as their career course.

GALVANI'S ANIMAL ELECTRICITY
Luigi Galvani (1737-1798), Italian physician and physicist. A teacher of medicine in Bologna, Galvani's great interest was animal electricity. In one experiment he applied current to the nerves of a frog and observed the contractions of the muscles in their legs. This led to widespread speculation on the relationship of biology, chemistry and electricity.
INVENTION FROM KITCHEN
One day he noticed that some frogs' legs he'd hung from brass hooks in a row on his balustrade, pending his dinner, twitched whenever the breeze blew them against the ironwork. At about the same time his wife Lucia noticed in his laboratory that the muscles of a frog's leg contracted when an assistant happened to be touching the main nerve with a steel scalpel at the same instant that a spark leaped from one of the electrical machines being operated across the room. (The only type of electricity then known was the static type, in the form of sparks from various friction devices.)
Fig 2
Galvani knew that metals transmitted this mysterious substance called electricity, and came to the obvious conclusion that some kind of electricity - which he called "animal electricity" - was generated in the tissue of the frog and, flowing through the metal skewer and fence, activated the frog's muscles.fig 2 represents the galvani’s lab

Normally the time on the earth’s surface is reckoned with respect to the overhead sun. When the sun is overhead at a given meridian, it is 12 noon for all places situated at that meridian. This is called local time.
But this local time varies from one place to the other. The question arises how? Since the earth completes its one rotation of 3600 in 24 hrs. That is, the time required for one degree longitude rotation of the earth is 4 minutes. Actually the earth rotates on its axis from west to east but the apparent movement of the sun is from east to west, and so a place that is situated west words of a given place will experience the over head sun later and the time of place will be behind the time east words of it. So the time differs from one place to the other at the rate of 4 minutes per degree of longitude.
So according to the sun movement we are imaging all places east words from a reference point have a time ahead and all places west words of it have a time behind. That is why the standard time of Bangladesh in ahead of Indian standard time and Pakistan standard time is behind the Indian standard time.
Standard time refers to an area example, a country it is the time of a centrally located meridian and the same time is conventionally assigned to the whole area of the country. Regarding our nation the central meridian is the longitude of 820 30’ and it passes near Allahabad and so the Indian standard time is in fact the time of this meridian. IST is 5hrs 30minutes ahead of GMT since we are in eastwards according to the International world Geography.
So, totally time of different places or countries of the world is varying and at the same time we could arrive a date of the world. To avoid this confusion the concept of International Date line has been adopted since 1972.
Counting from the prime meridian, the date to the east it is one day ahead than to its west, That is, a person travelling westwards of the prime meridian up to 1800 W will put his watch back by 12 hrs and the other person travelling eastwards up to 1800 will have put his watch 12 hrs forward. Thus the watches of these two persons meeting at the International Date Line will have the same time, but different dates.
Why two different dates? Means, from 11.00p.m – 11.59 pm the date will not vary in the International Date Line but exactly at 12p.m slice of world will be exhibited to sunlight and it goes a day ahead.
