Margaret Jeane

argaret Jeane, please introduce yourself. Hello i'm Margaret!

I'm an artist and designer with

a passion for capturing the

boundless beauty of nature.

From creatures, to landscapes,

to endless floral combinations.

Where does your passion for illustrations come from? My passion to illustrate comes

mostly from the beauty of

nature and inspiration of colour.

I love to do work that brings

on a flow state, that I can melt

into, where I mark make using

intuition rather than calculative

strokes.

Can you describe your work process? My process usually begins with

defining both a subject matter

and colour palette that I’d like

to focus on. Using self-photo-

graphed imagery and swatches

from my colour book, I begin

painting. I never restrict myself

(unless client specified) to

staying within the limits of my

original inspiration, but rather

allow the artwork to take on a

life of its own.

What is your favourite activity besides working on your label? Besides loving anything and

everything artistic; I love

spending time with our beautiful

execution. It was a no brainer

to collaborate with them when

they reached out!

What do you think makes the connection between &k amsterdam and your own style? I think my colourful exploration

of organic themes pairs

beautifully with their ability to

create unique and joyful

collections for the home.
