The programme was started after the Morning Prayer with introducing the resource persons. The students from all the streams took part in mediation and followed the instruction by the meditation instructor and benefitted.

The student from various stream participated in International Yoga day on 17th July 2017 in an open auditorium and followed the instruction, the students and faculties were finding difference after meditation and yoga early morning they all felt fit and energetic. This programme was conduct by Shri Ram Chandra Mission the Heartfulness organization behind the sahaj Marg system . Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation (SMSF) is a non –profit charitable trust dedicated to fulfilling civic and social responsibilities located in Bangalore. This team is located in BEML and Bangarpet area.
In 3 days of programme students learnt about meditating, relaxing and how to focus on studies.
Over all 300 students from II B.com and I year BBA & BCA were utilized these sessions and benefited.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES REPORT FROM 2014- 2019
2014-15
1. Fresher’s Day
The Fresher’s Day celebrations for Ist year undergraduate students for the academic year
2014-15 was observed on 30th August 2014. The program started at 10 A.M. with a
graceful welcome dance followed by lighting of the lamp and prayer. The Principal
Dr. Rekha Sethi delivered a value based inspiring talk to the Ist year under graduate
students.
The fresher’s day entertained everyone with cultural programs which included Dance,
Singing and Games which was followed by Miss and Mr Fresher’s contest, arranged by the
II and III year undergraduate students.
2. AVISHKAR
AVISHKAR, the mega event was organised by the Cultural Forum of SBMJC, KGF on 5th March,
2015. This mega event was an intra collegiate fest that provided a vibrant space for the students to
explore and nurture their hidden talents. It greatly helped to channelize their inherent creativity and
skills. The one opportunity the ‘Jainites’ were waiting to get hold of, in order to excel and enjoy.
3. Ethnic Day
The students made SBMJC-KGF campus look so very colourful with the various traditional
dresses of our states in India starting from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. On this day we brought in
national integration within our college campus

Rainbow Week
The cultural committee organized rainbow week from 9th to 14th of February, 2015 in a grand manner
for both students and faculty members. Everybody was asked to dress up in different colours
everyday with the concept of “VIBGYOR”. Both students and faculty members took an active part
by dressing in an attractive manner in the colours allotted for each day of the week. Colourful and
creative posters were put up all over the campus which depicted the colour of the particular day.

Women's Day International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8th 2015. It celebrates
womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women. The objective of the celebration
of International Women’s Day is to review past progress of women’s development and more
importantly, to look ahead at the opportunities of women and also to achieve gender equality and
women’s empowerment. Women's Day was celebrated in our college on 9th of March 2015. The
teaching and non-teaching women faculty and girl students particapted in the various events.

Hindi Diwas The Department of Hindi conducted a Hindi Fest, SPARSH2014 from 12th to 18th September,
2014. This Fest was conducted in connection with Hindi Diwas.
7. English Literacy and Cultural Fest The department conducts the English Literary and Cultural Fest that strives to help students
channel their creative capacity and face obstacles such as stage fear and emerge as confident

Scifest 2014 a mega event was organized on 12th September, 2014 for PUC, degree and higher
primary school students of various Institutions in Kolar district to bring awareness about the role
of science in our daily life.

12. Graduation Day On the 10th of April 2015, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College sent forth yet another batch of
confident citizens of today, all set to take on the world and everything it has to offer. Our graduating
class put their best foot forward, walking toward their goals in the graduation march and taking an oath
to affirm their dedication towards contributing to society.
Report of the event: 2015-2016
FreshersDay: Fresher’s day for the first year degree students was organized on 25th July 2015.
It was a welcome party for the new comers and makes the fresher’s feel good about being a part
of SBMJC family. Principal addressed the students. Games and cultural entertainment were
organized.
Avishkar: Intra collegiate fest was organized 19th august 2015. It was inaugurated by Mr.
Mahender Kumar CEO. Provided an ideal platform for our students to explore and nurture their
hidden talents.
Fun Fair: Was organized on 25th Jan 2016 in the presence of Mr. Mahender Kumar and
Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi. On this fun filled day nearly forty stalls were put up with the lucky
draw.
Vrishni: An inter collegiate mega event organized on 22nd Jan 2016. It provided a great
opportunity for the students from different colleges to unleash their talents. There was
enthusiastic participation among the students from various esteemed institutions.
Rainbow Week: This was organized from 28th to 31st of March 2016. Everybody was asked to
dress up on theme Vibgoyr. Students and faculty members showed keen interest.
Ethnic Day: Held on 9th April 2016: Students were excited to dress up in their ethnic wear.
Ethnic wear helps to bring in the spirit of national integration to come together and celebrate our
unity in diversity.
Farewell Day: The first and second year degree students organized farewell party for the
outgoing students. Our principal addressed the gathering and advised them to be a glowing lamp
in the society.
English Literary and cultural fest: The department of English organized various competitions
such as short story writing, paper flower making, poetry recitation and news reading. These
activities help students in holistic development and build their self confidence.
Hindi Diwas: was celebrated from 2nd September to 14th September 2016 in the name of
“Sparsh”. Competitions such as word construction, paint without brush, best out of waste,
Jhankar, rangoli, essay writing were conducted.
Kannada Fest: called as Kannada Siri was conducted on 7th April 2016. The chief guest for the
day was V.B.Deshpande. Drama, folk songs and dance, Film songs, Yakshagana were
conducted.
Commerce fest: Was organized on 7th September 2015. The forum students took active part in
the fest. Competitions like mad-Ads, Product launch, business quiz, case study presentation, ad-
mania etc.
Science Fest: was organized on 26th Feb 2016. Competitions were physics quiz, collage, pick
and speak, nutrition week, essay writing, drawing, model making, what’s in arm, bio-chrome.
Management fest: Was organized on 10th March 2016: Various competitions like best manager,
biz-quiz, mad-ads, packaging, chef kings, and joy of giving.
Student ++: was organized 15th March 2016. Competitions such as face painting, power point
presentation, E-waste management, debate, web designing, mehandi and other events were
conducted.
Women’s day: will be organized on 8th march every year. Women from different walks of life
such as police department, beautician, and blood bank officer share their experiences, and
advised the girl students. Different yoga asanas were taught by experts to overcome stress to
manage various clinical conditions.
Graduation Day: Was organized by the institution on 16th April 2016. This witnessed the
ceremonies graduation day of the batch 2013-2016. The outgoing batch students took an oath of
upholding the institutions culture. The students then shared their experiences and memories.

conducted and prizes were won by the respective class students.

Science Fest: was organized on 28th Feb 2017. Chief Guest Dr. S. Kumar Reddy, Scientist, NIRM. Competitions were physics quiz, collage, pick and speak, nutrition week, essay writing, drawing, model making, what’s in arm, bio-chrome.
Management fest: Was organized on 9th August 2016: The management forum was installed on this day, and the students were sworn in as forum members. Various competitions like food fest, best manager, biz-quiz, mad-ads, packaging, chef kings, and joy of giving were organized.
Student ++: was organized 8th Feb 2017. Competitions such as face painting, power point presentation, crack the code, poster designing, tech talk, ballot war, E-waste management, debate, web designing, mehandi and other events were conducted.
Women’s day: will be organized on 8th march every year. Innovative activities like Jewellery making competition using recycled materials, flower arrangement, different yoga asana were taught by experts to overcome stress to manage various clinical conditions, Health camp was conducted in association with Kempegowda Medical Service Trust, .
Graduation Day: Was organized by the institution on 30th April 2017. This witnessed the ceremonies graduation day of the batch 2014-2017. The outgoing batch students took an oath of upholding the institutions culture. Ms. Chaitanya of B.Com Achieved 5th Rank in Bangalore University and Mr. Shadab Khan of B.Com were awarded as Gold Medalist in Cost Accounting. Felicitation was done from our institution. The students then shared their experiences and memories.
Sports Day: Was conducted on 3rd October 2016 by the sports department. Chief Guest for the Day was Mr. Sharath Gaekward Para Olympic Swimmer. Various intra class competitions were conducted and prizes were won by the respective class students. Youth Fest: Was organized on the Theme Sampark 2017 on 18th Jan 2017 with the motto” We
care for you”. It is a celebration of rigors and exuberance of youth in a war of wit and wisdom were only the best can be made.
International Youth Day: Was organized on 13th August 2016 on the theme “The road to 2030”
for eradicating poverty and achieving sustainable consumption and production. Events such as best acting, composing a song, documentation, quiz, dub smash and games.
Report 2017-18 Vrishni: vrishni the Mega event was organized by the Cultural Forum of SBMJC, KGF on 5th April, 2018. This wonderful day started with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by invocation by Kavyashree In these major event nearly 14 colleges’ participated and nearly 450 students took part in various competitions. Winners are FGC First Grade College, Oorgaum runners up sambhram college, KGF
Fun Fair : fun fair is organized by cultural forum on 20th January . various stalls ranging from food to games were put up. Students participated with great enthusiasim.
Rainbow week : was organized from the 19th to the 24th March, 2018 in a grand manner for both students and faculty members. Everybody was asked to dress up in different colours everyday with the concept of “VIBGYOR”.
Ethnic Day: Ethnic day for the student community was held on 21st April, 2018 in a befitting manner. The students were excited to dress up in their ethnic wear and the response was very encouraging. By celebrating ethnic day, we get an opportunity to go back to our roots. It envisages a nation held together by its heritage, civilsation and culture.
Farewell day: The first and second year undergraduate students organized a “farwell party” for
the outgoing students of all the courses. The Principal, in her eloquent speech, addressed the outgoing students and advised them to be a glowing lamp in the society

Hindi Diwas sparsh hindi fest was organized on 14th September 2017 in which the department conducted various competitions such as rangoli, essay drawing, debate, composing poem and
paper presentation. Kannada Fest: janapada siri kannada fest was organized 17 october 2017. The fest was organized to promote states culture and literature. Competitions such as pick nad speak janapada song, folk dance, drama rangoli were organized.
Commerce fest COMFIESTA 2k17 was organised by the members of COMMON WEALTH OF COMMERCE headed by Mrs.Kasturi, Mr.Harish and Ms.Bageshwari. Mr.Sarvesh was invited as a guest(alumni of Jain College). Various commerce oreinted competitions were conducted to the B.Com students which benefited them to face the corporate world.
Student++ : the department of computer science organized techno fest EXEBIT to all the computer science students . events such as web desisining E-waste management , debate, robo design, hand paint, paper presentation were organized.
