Introduction
• The main objective of our project to generate50watt DC power by using solar plate and utilizeas street light.
• Generated power is used to charge the battery byusing charging circuit and stored in the battery tostreet lights.
• The street light we used combination of highintensity LEDs in series connection.

Solar plates
solar plates
• It is main part of our project and it provideelectrical energy in dc form by photovoltaiceffect.
• terminal voltage 20volt.
• Short circuit current 3.3mA
• Length 500 cm
• Height 2.5 cm
• Width 300 cm
• Efficiency 80-85%
Battery
Batteries
• We used 12v,7Ah battery in our project
• In our project we used lead acid battery the
charging\discharging efficiency of this battery is 50-95%
• To maintain the voltage level and power supply rate of the
system.
• A battery bank connected parallel to this system takes
care of that.
• The battery is charged by solar electricity and this battery
then feeds a load directly or through an inverter.

Working of charging circuit
• A solar charger employs solar energy to supplyelectricity to devices to supply electricity todevices or charge battery
• This is not desirable to overcharge and underdischarge a lead acid battery.
• Both overcharging and under discharging canbadly damage the battery system.
• To avoid these both situations a controller isrequired to attach with the system to maintainflow of current to and from the batteries.
Load
• 12 High intensity LEDs are used in our project
as load.
• Combination of 4 LEDs are connected in
series.
• Rating of every LEDs 3 volts.
Advantages of Solar Energy
• Clean
• Sustainable
• Free
• Provide electricity to remote places
Disadvantages of solar energy
• Less efficient and costly equipment
• Part Time
• Reliability Depends On Location
• Environmental Impact of PV Cell Production
