First Baptist McKinney offers a dynamic and growing ministry to senior adults. From small group Bible studies to fellowships and mission projects, we value the golden season of life! Our enrollment in the senior adult division is quickly approaching 900, and many can testify of God’s love & faithfulness in their personal lives as well as in our church family. SENIOR ADULT MISSIONS First Baptist Seniors are active in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond. Below is a listing of some of the missional endeavors in which, we have been and continue to be, involved:

•Habitat for Humanity: provide financial & construction support

•HOMETOUCH: a ministry to connect with people no longer able to attend church

•Incredible Fridays: provide meal for 50 volunteers each month for this ministry

•Jubilee Chorale: this group sing once a month for Retirement and Assisted Living residents

•Levite Ministry: weekly clean/refill pew holders in Worship Center with offering envelopes, prayer cards, etc.

•Letter Writers: write cards to people on the prayer list

•Lord’s Supper (in home): organize, prepare and administer elements to those who are unable to attend worship services

•McKinney Seniors Helping Seniors: provide minor home maintenance and repair service with a key focus on safety issues in the home

•Meals on Wheels: volunteers in the program and give financial support

•Office phone volunteers: answer phone calls at the front desk during Sunday morning services, also assist with other needs during that time

•Prison Ministry: Bible studies and providing soft-covered Bibles for inmates, working with families of inmates

•Salvation Army Bell Ringers: opportunity to serve during the holidays in a special way

•Samaritan Inn: monthly meals, Bible studies, and the ongoing process of furnishing sev-eral apartments at Gateway Inn

•Senior Adult Scholarship Fund: given yearly to a deserving graduate student continuing their education to a higher level

•Special Event Decorating: volunteers give of their time and expertise to decorate for large church events such as Christmas, Deacon Spring Banquet, church-wide con-ference, etc.

•Adopt an Annuitant: financial contribution to retired ministers and their families in our community and beyond

•Angel Tree: Christmas: provide for children who may

not otherwise receive anything Prison Fellowship: provide gifts for children

of incarcerated parent(s) Year Around: provide summer/holiday

events for children/families of incarcerated parent(s)

•Appalachian Outreach: a ministry to low income people of Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee

•Building Maintenance Volunteers: work with First McKinney building maintenance staff with repairs, construction, etc.

•Bulletin Stuffers: enclose cards, envelopes, other items in the bulletin for Sunday services, also help with large mail outs from the church

•Caregivers: help residents in McKinney, once a month with utility bills, gasoline, food, or prescriptions (only help same family every two years)

•Children of Prison Inmates: financial support •Adopt-a-School: Finch Elementary (interested,

call Becky Cross at 469.644.0529) Mentoring students Reading with students Class parties

•Food/School Supplies/Diaper & Shoe Collections Women on Mission lead out on these projects, collect and deliver for distribution •Food Service Volunteers: assist and serve at

food service events throughout the year

•Student Ministry: Support D-Now weekend Xtreme Camp: about 10

scholarships are given for students to attend each year

Xtreme Camp sponsors and grandparents

•Templo de Alabanza Eben-Ezer: construction of the building, along with financial support to build and furnish this mission church Financial assistance and volunteers

help with large missional event each year

•VIPS: Volunteers in Pastoral Service: volunteers help with hospital visitation as needed

•Write-Way Ministry: grade Bible studies (here at the church) for prison inmates
