Project Goals Satisfied?
• Safety Improvements
– Statistically, roundabouts are safer than traditional signalized intersections.
– Both alternatives will improve the geometry of the intersection and accommodate large vehicles.
• Drainage Improvements
– The existing drainage network will be improved with either alternative; however, the roundabout would require a more complex drainage system.
• Arterial Efficiency and Operations
– Both alternatives would improve the efficiency and operation of the arterial network.
