Our school•Co-educational school catering for children from 3 + in the Nursery Unit and thereafter from 4-11 years in the main school. In 2000 the school underwent major building work to convert it from a first to a primary school.

•52 place Nursery Unit.

•Key Stage 1 pupils are educated in spacious classrooms.

•Key Stage 2 pupils are educated in the refurbished two-storey building.

•Excellent outdoor learning environment •Refurbishment has just been completed of the Early Years Foundation Stage giving the children more space when working indoors and a covered outdoor learning area. We have recently erected a covered area for outdoor work and creative sessions. Young children can enjoy outdoor play facilities designed to develop their physical skills, whilst older pupils have access to the Climbing Obstacles on the school field .

Our School• The school is two form entry. • There are 17 members of teaching staff and 12 members of

support staff. • The school day runs from 8.55am until 3.15 although extra

curricular clubs are offered to the children outside of these hours.

Shiremoor• Originally called Tynemouthshire Moor.• Shiremoor was first built as a colliery village

to accommodate the miners of the local pits.• Every year the local people hold a "treat" for

the children of Shiremoor and surrounding villages. This tradition dates back to 1907 and has been held every year since. It was started by a group of men from the local pit and today is ran by a committee of local people.
