Fund - An - ItemThis is a unique and simple way for you to help SVHS. During the Live Auction, Bidding will be open for everyone to financially contribute to an item or a need highly sought after by the school. Contributing to a Fund An Item is a fun and lively way to help ensure Viking success.

Fund An Item #1: Minos 8GB Digital Flip Video Cameras @ $139 each for student check-out. The IT Department needs as many as can be funded tonight! These remarkably high quality video cameras are in constant demand for projects and activities

Fund An Item #2: Vikng Ropes Course Inspection, Maintenance & Training $1,500+SVHS is fortunate to have a Ropes Course on cam-pus. It has already been used by over 200 participants this year from sports teams to General PE to Special Needs Classes to build confidence and teamwork dynamics. It has just been refurbished and a boulder-ing shed is being added to allow indoor use and store equipment on-site. To keep it operating at a high level of safety, an annual inspection that can cost up to $1,000 is required. While it is not generating money yet, the goal is that once the program is fully up and running, it will become self-sustaining. Maintenance and training for the Course Supervisor may add an additional cost. This can also be a valuable asset to the NE community and businesses.

Viking OriginalsThese one of a kind collector’s items are uniquely decorated by members of the Viking family and have created many a bidding war. This year, Mikel Trapp’s Advanced Carpentry students have hand- crafted wooden Adirondack Chairs, benches and bird houses. Steve Wilson, Pre-Engineering, used a Plasma Cam robotic cutting tool to cut palmetto trees out of metal, a donated 50’s glider and chair will be transformed, AF JROTC has build an airplane for a child to ride, donated large mirrors will be transformed by the Art department and the Ceramics Instructor is making pottery pieces. A complete listing will be found in theCatalog and Addendum available at Check In.

The Spring Valley Education Foundation is am IRS 501 (C)(3) charitable organization. As such, gifts to the school may be partially tax deductable, benefiting donors by reducing their tax liabilities. The difference between purchase price and fair market value may be deductable. For more specific information about current tax regulations, the purchaser should contact a professional tax consultant.
