A hospitable meeting place for people of all faiths and none

A quiet space for prayer and reflection, for individuals and groups

A programme of events, including retreats, quiet days and short conferences

A place where people can run their own residential or day events

General Information for House Events We are happy to welcome you to Katherine House.

Half an hour before the start of an event we will have coffee brewing and you can help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits.

The suggested donation for attending an event is usually £5 (for morning/afternoon/evening) or £15 (all-day). Cost should not stop you attending - please give what you can afford.

If there are no bookings, an event will not go ahead. You are welcome for ring on the day to see a late booking is possible but we cant guarantee it.

To book you can use the form on the website, email [email protected] or telephone us on 0161-708 9744 giving your name and a contact number.

A word from our Director, Marie

We have lots of interesting things this season. I'm very pleased to have Bible study again at the house. I often have people say that they wish they knew the bible better and had a better understanding of the readings they hear in church. Our bible study will look at the Sunday readings for the next two weeks; discuss them, make links between the Gospels and the Hebrew Scriptures and pray with them. For those who want to know the background to the bible better our ‘Bringing the Old Testament to Life’ course will be great.

During lent we will be running a course on Friday afternoons looking at themes from Les Miserables which is packed full of stories about redemption love and how to live out the best life you can.

There are lots of opportunities to have a peaceful retreat day.

Our talks with be very interesting. I'm looking forward to ‘A first encounter with Africa’ with Sr Teresa Brittain, ‘God Beyond Boundaries, Borders and Barriers’ with Andy Salmon and welcoming back Sr Teresa White FCJ (who used to run Katherine House) to help us get to grips with the themes of Laudato si - a wonderful document with lots to say to all of us about how we care for the earth we share.
