Message from the SCCA Board

The Fall and Winter sessions at Strathcona have been lively. Thank you for coming in and making the Centre feel so vibrant and energized.

More engaged youth has added a level of volume and playfulness. With funding challenges to satisfy ongoing youth programming, we are continually working to maintain this programming. BC Housing remains a key funder in support of youth – here at the Centre and at our satellite program space @701 Jackson.

We are excited to announce the completion of our Strategic Plan for 2020-2024. With renewed vision, mission and value statements, we have developed an action plan for the coming years and look forward to the task of creative implementation. The planning process engaged staff and Board and reviewed our Community Needs Assessment for guidance. Please have a look on our website (strathconacc.ca) for the full Plan!

We are moved and inspired by recent climate action activities, seen in our community and city. We have been having conversations with the Vancouver Park Board Leadership team and staff, focusing on advancing the CCA’s role in supporting education, engagement and empowerment to our communities given the climate emergency. We will be celebrating earth day (April 22, 2020) here at the Centre, and are eager to hear your ideas on what type of “green” programming you’d like to take part in (or lead!).

As always continue to give your feedback on our programs and services, so that we can continue programming to meet community needs.

Respectfully,SCCA Board of Directors
