Pistols & Posies“Pistols and Posies” portrays rival Chicago gangs in comi-

cal conflict to sell alcohol in speakeasies during Prohibition. Gang leader Primo Malvone claims his “racket” is selling

flowers. Mama Mia, Primo’s competitor, wants to prove to police that Primo is really a bootlegger. An opera singer who loves to hear jazz and dance the Charleston, Primo’s wacky

family, and gangland’s least competent thugs add many laughs to this hilarious play. Costumes, music, and dancing from the 1920’s make this a show you don’t want to miss.

Luncheon Sign-Up ProceduresEach luncheon begins with a business meeting where club issues, upcoming events, and other

news will be discussed. Registering by the RSVP date will guarantee that there will be enough

food to accommodate all members who attend. Members who register after 12 p.m. on the

RSVP date will be charged an additional $3. Registration will not be accepted the

day of the luncheon.

Swim LessonsAdult group learn to swim lessons are

available at the Roswell Adult Aquatic Center through Neverland Aquatics. All classes have

a 1:4 teacher to student ratio.Beginner Course: no prerequisite, teaches water entry/exit, changing position in the

water, breath control and submerging, treading and safety, floating on front and

back, stroke basics for freestyle, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and side stroke. Intermediate Course: improve breath

control for stroke, effectiveness and efficiency of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, but-

terfly, elementary backstroke, and side stroke. Increase fitness and endurance; treading and

safety. Must be able to freestyle and backstroke for15 yards and submerge head.

Roswell New Horizons Band

All experience levels welcome! We schedule off-site performances,

trips and even band camp!

Pops Band: Usually about 40 People. This Band

plays a lot of music from the movies, Broadway

shows, popular artists of the past and present

(John Williams, The Four Seasons), marches and a few symphonic numbers.

Jazz Band: Usually about 17 people plus a

vocalist. Music of the 30’s and 40’s big bands, plus many of the songs which

were popular through the years to most Americans and some contemporary

pieces.

Dixie Kings and $2 Dixie Band: Usually about 5 to 8 people. Typical book of

dixieland tunes.

Plantation Brass Quintet: 5 people. Broad repertoire ranging from classical, opera exerpts,

religious, to popular standards.

Civil War battle in the Atlanta area. We will

walk along a scenic area by Lake Allatoona.

Red Top Mountain State Park

March 27th, 9 a.m., $10A scenic area by the

Etowah River as it feed into Lake Allatoona.

Unicoi State Park/Anna Ruby Falls

April 17th, 9 a.m., $10We will walk from

downtown Helen to Unicoi State Park. We will have lunch at the

park. After lunch the bus will take us to Anna Ruby Falls. Please bring your National Park Parking Pass. In case it is not

accepted on the bus be prepared to pay a $3.00

fee per person.

What is a Rambler?Join the Ramblers!

If you are looking for a group of active adults aged fifty and over to travel and socialize with, the Roswell Ramblers want YOU! The Roswell Ramblers is a membership organization of

active individuals who are interested in developing and participating in social, recreational, cultural and educational programs. They plan activities for the mutual benefit of citizens aged

fifty and over in Roswell and surrounding areas. Activities include trips, parties, social functions, business meeting luncheons, publishing the club newsletter, program planning and volunteer opportunities. Rambler members are offered the opportunity to take an active role

in planning activities for the club.

A $15 membership fee is valid from July 1 through June 30 each year.All checks for Ramblers’ membership should be made payable to “City of Roswell.”

All checks for trips and/or events, unless otherwise specified, should be made payable to “Roswell Ramblers.”
