In May of last year I was offered the opportunity to manage Spring Inspiration’16. Nine months has past and the love I have developed for this project is amazing. When I initially found out that I had been chosen to be the project manager of the 19th edition of Spring Inspiration I felt excited and thrilled, but it also felt like I was standing in front of a big black hole. The realization then struck me, what better way to meet a black hole than with light. My goal became bringing light to Spring Inspiration’16 and I truly believe that the best way to bring in light into a project is to surround yourself with other stars. I want to start out by giving a big thank you to the amazing project team, the models, the exhibiting stores and designers, the sponsoring partners of Spring Inspiration’16 and to the JSA. Together we have not just created a sky full of stars but a whole Galaxy for you as an audience to enjoy. Thanks everyone, for your hard work and for making this year’s Spring Inspiration magical.

Now I want to invite you all aboard for this journey to the final destination, Spring Galaxy, this year’s theme of

Spring Inspiration, the largest fashion show in Scandinavia organized by students. This is an evening where fashion is combined with show, a perfect opportunity to get inspired by fabulous clothes and to get updates about the hottest trends of this Spring and along the way enjoying perfor-mances from top class artists in the beautiful environment at Kulturhuset Spira.

You are now about to enter a whole new galaxy and who does not need a map for such a journey? This magazine is your map. It will guide you through the spar-kling event that lays ahead of you. This magazine is loaded with inspiration and fashion. Everyone who is involved in this project is represented here. This year we have focused on creating a show that provides you with something different, something undiscovered, a tool to help you find this seasons star garments. With the wide range of variety generated by the stores and designers participating in Spring Inspiration, we believe that everyone in our audience will collect new creative ideas. As much as much as this is a journey for us together, this is also your own galaxy experience. That is what fashion is all about, finding new ways to express your very own personality.

So lastly, enjoy your very own Galaxy experience and all the stars surrounding you! I hope to see you at the show on the 15th of April 2016!

PROJECT MANAGER 2016

ELISABETH SAMUELSSON

We figured that there are many of you who only have a hunch of what Spring Inspiration is about, and that you haven’t quite got the whole picture yet. Therefore, we want to tell

you a bit more about what Spring Inspiration really is. The project is arranged and hosted by the students of Jönköping International Business School Student Association (JSA). It is an annual fashion show arranged in Jönköping that aims to deliver brand new inspiration

during spring-time. This is followed by a gala night where students, businesses and people of Jönköping get together. During the show, various stores and young talented designers are

given the chance to show off their latest collections and designs at the catwalk in front of an audience of around 700-800 people.

Spring Inspiration started 1998 with the vision of combining entrepreneurship with fashion.

This is exactly what Jönköping International Business School stands for: “International at heart, entrepreneurial in mind, responsible in action”. The project has grown over the past

few years by reaching out through a greater number of media channels, this has in turn generated a greater interest from both the public. In 2012, Spring Inspiration was held at

Spira, Jönköping’s own culture-house, for the first time. Spira allowed Spring Inspiration to invite a larger audience and gave the event a more modern and professional appearance. The concept was very successful and much appreciated, and it also pushed the project to a whole

new level.

In 2013 Spring Inspiration expanded to include the other faculties as well, this in order to get the best possible team together and to create a diversity of minds and opinions not known from previous years. The fashion show in 2015 delivered a great night with its theme Fash-ion Wonderland, it had a total of 11 designers and stores that showed off their collections, and about 800 people attended the event. The students working with this project do so for

more than 6 months in order to create the perfect night for all its guests. That is why you should be there, because it will be amazing.

WE HEREBY PRESENT

THE HOSTS

OF SPRING INSPIRATION 2016

Before experiencing the show, perhaps it would be nice for you to get to know the two persons who will accompany you through Spring Galaxy on April 15th. Therefore, we have interviewed Hannah and Erik, who will be our hosts this year.

6

7

If you were to go on a dinner with the person you want, who would it be?H: Undoubtedly Adele. She seems very funny.E: Sigge Eklund, to see if he really is such a smart and nice person to hang out with, as he appears to be. Or Justin Bieber! Lately, I have become a Belieber.

What clothes are you most comfortable in? H: Black jeans, a nice top and a pair of heels. E: Washed out soft shirts, black jeans and boots However, the shorts is my number one clothing. I am always first to put on a pair of shorts, and the last one to take them off.

What would you wear as guests on the show if you were to match the theme Spring Galaxy?H: As a guest I would put on a white jacket together with a sparkling galaxy inspired dress, maybe in the colors purple and blue. E: Black jacket, and perhaps try to connect the details to the space theme, for example a handkerchief with galaxy print.

Overdressed or trash? H&E: Overdressed.

What emotion do you want the audience to feel when you are on stage? H&E: That we are professional and experienced. People shall enjoy the show, which we will contribute to.

Your expectations for the night?H&E: The event will be grand, and it is a great honor to be master of ceremonies at Spring Inspiration. The entire hall will be a galaxy full of good-looking people. It probably will feel like you cannot be prettier than you are right at that moment.

Hannah Östebo Age: 24 years old. City: Göteborg. Employment: Works part time at Scandic. Besides she also has her own company, focusing on giving lectures regarding self-esteem. Earlier she studied to become a nurse at Jönköping University.

What is your worst fashion memory?H: In seventh grade, when I combined sweatpants with heels. That was really a “social suicide”. E: On Valborg a couple of years ago, at a spex in Jönköping. I was wearing patterned sweatpants for girls from New Yorkers, which did not emphasize my rear in a very charming way…

What is the best thing about being on stage?E&H: The acknowledgment from the audience, and the adrenaline rush from being the center of attention. Receiving compliments after a show, is also quite nice. How would you describe your style? H: Wannabe preppy-look, a bit like Mad Men. I love when it is feminine, and I believe it is important to show the female curves. E: I am not sure what to call my personal style, but I love floral shirts. I am really a ”flowery shirt- kind of guy”.

What is the most important thing you notice watching people speaking on stage?H&E: Confidence. Good contact with the audience and attendance is also very important. It’s essential to be generous with yourself.

Fashion Profile; who are your idols?H: Ashley Graham, Tess Holliday, Karyn Johnson, all of which are well-known plus-size models. Embrace the curves, you should be proud of the body you have!E: I am so bad at naming someone special that I am inspired of, mostly I get inspiration from watching people in everyday life, for example seeing someone in the street, dressing nicely. What are you wearing as hosts? H: I have no idea, maybe dressed as a space queen? Actually, I have not decided yet. It will be a surprise! E: Something related to the space-theme. I am really going to go all in, in my role as the host of Spring Galaxy.

A revolution doesn’t start by itself. It

starts with a little bit of attitude and

courage in one single person. An idea,

a vision, and the ignition of a spark. If

we can ignite a spark inside of a few

people, together we could start a fire.

No attitude, no revolution!

SPACE, FUTURE AND THE UNDISCOVERED

Imagine the future. Not the future as in flying cars over the streets in Jönköping, but a future in another galaxy. A galaxy where everything is different. Far away from the noise and feuds on our planet you will discover a world beyond everything you could ever imagine. This world represents everything we want our future to be like: fair, bright and filled with the most trendy pieces for this spring. The Spring Galaxy is built upon three main pillars: space, future and the undiscovered.

Space is mostly represented in our decorations. Our vision concerning decorations was to create a bright galaxy, with the dominating colors of purple, pink, blue and green. The decorations at every event have been pieces from the sparkling Spring Galaxy, which will bloom out and show every bit of its colors at our main event in April - The fashion show.

Spring Galaxy can be described as when edgy and cold meets soft and warm in perfect harmony. To enhance this feeling we borrowed construction scaffolding. We hung a couple of cliffhangers? with clothes on and some “riseball”-lights in the scaffolding, to make it look more Springy. Edgy and cold meets soft and warm. Perfect combination for Spring Galaxy.

The undiscovered comes in handy when we talk about the inspiration that we, together with the stores and designers, hope to provide you with. We want you to be inspired and feel like you get to see new things when looking at the amazing clothes at the catwalk. Because it is time to discover what to wear this spring. Speaking of undiscovered, I learned a new word when we started discussing the decorations for the events: Icosahedron. The first time the word came up almost everyone in the team looked like human question marks.

It took us a while to figure out what theme we should have for this year’s Spring Inspiration. The theme had to be applicable to both fashion, decorations in the show, and to our smaller events. The suggestions came flooding in, and we had many great ideas to consider. This made it quite dif-ficult to decide. What was Spring 2016? Could Spring Inspiration 2016 be a fashion jungle? Could it be a candyland where the show would be covered in sweets á la Katy Perry? Or maybe the theme would take you below the sur-face and explore the magical world under water. We voted, discussed, and brainstormed to come to a conclusion of what would be the most suitable alternative for Spring Inspiration 2016. A process resulting in the following:

14

I am talking about that flat-sided solid, made up by 20 triangular faces. I find it quite hard to describe. It looks a bit like an edgy ball without a center. It is highly rec-ommended to look at the picture, to really understand what I am talking about. The icosahedron is an important piece of the decorations in Spring Inspiration 2016 and appears at every event we have arranged, as well as on our logo for 2016. It is both space-like and has that classy and clean futuristic look. Where do you get one, you might won-der? As inventive as a person can be, I think we found a person in the team who took it a step further and answered that question. She suggested we should saw some curtain-rods into pieces and bind them together with wires. That’s how you make an icosahedron. With chopped up curtain-rods. “I’ll make two”, she said.

Now you know how we got ours. To further develop the feeling of being in the future, we kept in mind in everything we did that we have the opportunity to create something new, unique and different. The future does not need to follow old paths but can aim to create new ones.

To embrace the theme, Spring Galaxy, in all its glory, you should attend the show. That is where the true magic will happen. So join us and let’s discover the undiscovered together. I will not reveal any of the details about the show, but I promise, it will be good. Really good.

STEP 1: When this is done and you’ve shaped your eyebrows in your preference, you start applying a dark brown shadow in a v-shape on the outer corner of your eye. Blend the shadow along your crease and upwards away from your eye. Make sure that all the transitions are soft.

STEP 2: Apply the same shadow along the lower lash line and make sure that the upper and lower shadow transition into each other without any gaps in the corner of the eye. This will frame your eyes nicely!

STEP 3 : Time for eyeliner! A good rule if you struggle with the wing of the eyeliner is to lightly draw the wings with your eyeshadow before applying the actual eyeliner. Follow the direction of your lower lash line so that your wing moves outwards and upwards.

Lastly, apply a highlighter in the inner corner of your eye, add a pair of false lashes and apply mascara. Since this is a light eye makeup look, end with a bold red lip color! For a finishing touch, you can also apply some highlighter on the upper v of your lips.

Daniel Afshinnejad, more known as Daniel Paris, is a Swedish blogger and lecturer who became famous after winning the first season of the reality show Ung och

info for Spring Inspiration’s snapchat account to inspire and entertain its followers and you might have seen some of his posts! He has been great to work with and we hope

you will enjoy this short interview with him, and maybe also learn something new.

SPRING INSIPRATION

MEETS DANIEL PARIS

Everything went pretty quick when you came into the spotlight a few years ago. How did it feel to suddenly get so much publicity at once?It was a little crazy and I didn’t understand what was going on. All of a sudden I wasn’t able to go anywhere without people coming up to me; a lot of the younger people were screaming and crying because they said they loved me so much. But I was just, and still am, a regular person who was on TV, so I thought it was absolutely crazy. I feel like I showed everyone a big part of myself and some of the things people saw were too personal. It was strange that over a million people had seen my room, my mother and even my kitchen table where I used to eat dinner every day. A lot of the mean stuff people said made me sad, and I don’t think I’ll ever let anyone see that much of me and my life again.

Do you think you have changed as a person after you participated in the tv-show “Ung och bortskämd”?Yes. A lot. I am so thankful that I was a part of the show and really happy for everything that came with it. I learned so much about life and about myself, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for the show. I’m glad I did it. I almost said no, and sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn’t done it.

After reading your blog, we have gotten the impression that you have found yourself. What do you think your personal style is regarding fashion?I wear anything and everything I like. I used to care about labels and wanted expensive stuff but now I don’t care about that. I love vintage and sometimes I wear my dad’s clothes. I get really inspired by people who go their own way, people on the street who are just so comfortable with what they have on. I love to look at people and study their style. I really like the Olsen Twins style and Johnny Depp. It’s a little crazy and really cool. It’s a little crazy and really cool.

What is the story behind the name Paris? It’s from Paris Hilton, I loved her when I was younger and she was a huge inspiration because she went her own way and didn’t care what anybody thought. That made her truly awesome in my eyes. She does a lot of charity work and she uses her name to talk about important things, and I think that is vital.

We think that style should be about more than just what’s on the outside. How do you think that you should work to get the life philosophy of “being kind” to become a style to strive for?I think just by talking to people about how important it really is to be kind to others and being a nice person, the more it will become a vital part of everyone’s lives. We need to talk more about the nice things people do and stop applauding people who are mean or talk trash about others. We also need to start realizing that it is more important than ever to make 2016 a good and positive year.

What clothes will you wear this spring? My pea coat! I’m completely in love with it! It’s a favourite!

What would you wear to the Spring Inspiration fashion show 2016?A navy coat. I’ve got a thing for blue, especially dark blue but I also really like barley blue.

What are your tips to maintain your character and your values even though you have a lot of pressure from the outside? You should always try to be the person you want to have as a friend. Step out of your comfort zone, and dare to say and do what you want. I have never had any problems with saying no or expressing my opinion when something doesn’t feel right. Always stay true to yourself and never care about what people think. In the end it is your own perception of yourself that matters.

PHOTO DANIEL PARIS

30

What are you plans for the future? I want to develop more as a TV-show host and overall work more with television, which I will during this spring. I also want to start my own charity foundation but that is further in the future.

You have been working a lot with anti-bullying campaigns on the internet. How actively are you working against anti bullying right now?I try to do everything I can to spread a positive mood online. I talk about how important it is to be kind and that harsh words really can ruin people’s lives. I try to show that it’s cool to be kind and that you can get far by being a good and kind person. Also, I’ve held lectures for both parents and the police about the importance of good behaviour online.

What happens next?More TV is on, and I’m going to be the show host for Finest Awards! Soon my participation in Fort Boyard will be sent in. Gunde Svan said he’d never during his time at the fort met someone competing in the same way I did.

THIS OR THAT?Walk backwards your whole life or hit your big toe for

every step you take? Walk backwards!

Night in or night out? Night in!

Blogging or lecture? Lecture and blogging! hehe

Lost in Antarctica or lost in the Sahara Desert? Sahara Desert! Heat’s life.

Phone or computer? Phone

THE MUST-HAVE

HAIRSTYLE THIS SPRING

32

33

STEP 1: Divide the hair into three equal parts.

STEP 6: Final fix! Finish with hair-spray, shine-spray, and modify to make everything evenly “messy”. And that’s it, good luck!

STEP 5: Attach the dutch braid under the knot.

STEP 2: Make a side part to your left and then a small French braid on the right side.

STEP 4: Make a Dutch braid of the remaining hair.

STEP 3: Make a round knot of the braid and spin the small french braid around it. Attach with clips.

It is a good idea to prep the hair with dry shampoo before starting. Here we used a volumizing iron to get different hair textures, but it also works fine to

RED Brighter colors have often been used to add a dab of color in our Scandinavian, non-colored outfits. For spring 2016,

there is an exception... This spring’s hottest color is RED. At last we can dress in color, but to stand out from the crowd.

The color red can of course be used when accessorizing, but for the more challenging subjects - dare to wear

an entire outfit in red!

FLOWERY

Follow nature and go for floral patterns this spring, it is actually one of the biggest trends for SS16. Colors, patterns and embroidery is something we should bear in mind and already last autumn when Stella McCartney showed her SS16 collection, we were all in awe because of her suits, dresses and collage-shirts full with flowers and embroidery. Thankfully, even budget chains followed this trend, and this spring we can all happily dress in colors. Budget chains such as Zara and & Other Stories are great options where you can cop something of your own!

The concept of ”less is more” has been one of the most secure cards to pull for a long time for a lot of people, even for me. A big trend this spring is asymmetrical clothing and it goes

along perfectly with ”less is more”. These asymmetrical gar-ments are incredibly stylish in its simplicity, but with a twist.

I am inspired by designer such as House of Dagmar, By Malene Birger and Rodebjer, just to name a few that

are big names this spring. You can also find really awesome options at the budget chain Cos!

WE WILL ALSO BE COMPETING IN SPRING GAMES 2016

When you attend the Spring Inspiration Fashion Show at Spira there are some things we think are quite good to keep in mind. This short guide is provided to make you completely sure that there is nothing you have for-gotten, and that you feel ready and confident when going to Spira on the 15th of April.

SPRINGERS GUIDETO THE GALAXY

To start off… Probably the most obvious thing to remember, and we do hope you will remember: your ticket. It also include entry to the afterparty at Sliver, so hold on to it after the show as well.

11.30 PM

The show starts at 19.00, but the mingle starts at 18.00. So make sure to not miss the mingle, you will have a lot of opportunities to meet awesome people, talk to some of our sponsors, and take fancy pictures

Speaking of pictures, do not forget to use our official hashtag when posting your photos: #springinspiration16

It is good to keep in mind that your included entry to the afterparty is only valid until 23.30. After that, unfortunately, you will have to accompany the others waiting in line.

If you are interested in getting a goodie bag, you should be there on time, as only the first 300 attendees will receive one. The goodie bag will be filled with fun surprises so you are going to want one..

Bring your charm. What would you do without it? There will be lots of models at the afterparty... *wink wink*

There will be a photo wall and lots of photographers so practice your best poses beforehand!

Do not forget your wallet as you might want to buy a drink (or two) in the bar while you mingle.

The address to Spira is: Kulturgatan 3, 553 24 Jönköping.

Do not forget to charge your phone, you are going to want to take pictures. Believe me..

No need to worry about your jacket at the show, there will be a free wardrobe where you can hang it.

Do not come to the show starving.. You will be able to buy something edible, but it might be a bit stressful before the show.

Maybe you want to feel extra cool, so bring your sunglasses for the outdoor mingle, or perhaps an umbrella. It is Sweden after all, so you never know.
