The REDCLAWS BOWLS CLUB held the Mixed Triples Club Selected Final August

17th and it turned out to be a very close and exciting gamThe team of Alan, Nola and John defeated the team of Nev, Bev and Eve.

The REDCLAWS Social Bowls ClubThe next two sponsor days to be held are on Sunday 16th

September, sponsor is Affordable Screens and Blinds and 7th of October, sponsor is Des Allen & Co Funerals. Entry fee for Sponsor Days is $6.00 for players and $4.00 for non players, these costs are to cover the BBQ and players $10 money draws. The players name sheets will be at the Bowls Desk in the Ocean Breeze Clubhouse, at the appropriate days.

The Bowls Competitions are now finished for the year, all games were played in good fellowship and very competitive. The standard was excellent and all winners were deserving being called champions.

There is a fun event coming up soon that is a game of Ladies versus Men Triples. Happy Bowling.

The bar is open every Wednesday 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Friday 3:30 to 7:pm, Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 3:30 pm 6:00 pm (at managers discretion)

Every Saturday evening there is a lucky Villa Draw, starting at $50.00 and if not won the prize jackpots by $10.00. The Villa number is drawn between 4:00 pm and 6:00pm. Winner must be present and have one minute to claim the prize.

The Oasis Bar & Lounge celebrated two years in operation in mid August. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard. It’s nice to know that the Bar have made year to date, a profit of $18,000. Oh and great enjoyment for many.

The 2018 Bundaberg Relay for life was held on the weekend of 11/12th August. The theme was Medieval England. There was a total of 56 teams involved and raised a total of $116,852. The Young at Heart of PLR Bargara had three teams and raised $15,000

For Garden LoversThe PLRB garden group was formed for the garden

lovers of our resort. There are two outside garden clubs I am a member of both clubs, some residents are also members of one or both. The clubs meet once a month, one every second Monday of the month and the other every second Thursday, members have informal visits to other members gardens and swap plants and give each other ideas and information on growing plants.

Our garden group often take bus trips on visits to large gardens and nurseries, mostly on day trips, occasionally on overnight trips.

On 10th September the Coral Coast Garden club have organised a bus trip to Hervey Bay - Maryborough area, they will be four gardens and two nurseries. Lunch at the RSL club (lunch at own expense). Cost of bus trip is $35 per head, bus leaves at 8.00 am and should be returning at approximately 4.00pm. Kay Schults V197. for information contact Kay V197 or Brenda V23.
