Spring 2018 Friends of the Arts CELEBRATING THE ARTS AT DCDS riends of the Arts is proud to host Celebrate the Arts, the largest all-school event at Detroit Country Day School. For more than 30 years, Celebrate the Arts has served as the culmination of a years worth of creativity and preparation by our PK3 through 12 th -grade students. The annual event showcases more than 1,000 pieces of artwork, along with the instrumental, vocal, and performing talents of our students. Celebrate the Arts gives us the opportunity to recognize our seniors who are graduating with a conservatory designation (see Conservatory Recognition, page 3), as our Fine Arts Conservatory students display their portfolios and our Performing Arts Conservatory students take the spotlight on stage. One- third of the Class of 2018 will graduate with the conservatory designation – congratulations to our seniors! The FOA board of directors is honored to work with faculty members across every campus to support their endeavors. Every day, these teachers inspire confidence in our children to express their inner artist, musician, and performer. They motivate our children in ways that we, as parents, never can. We express our gratitude for their talent and their dedication. It has been my honor to serve as president of the FOA board. I hope that you will consider becoming a member of Friends of the Arts and supporting the arts programming at Detroit Country Day School.
