Essential Oils (Beyond the Basics)Session 1: Essential Oil Foundations, Daily Vitality, Weight Control. You will learn about essential oil application methods, including when to dilute oils. The instructor will explain the process of extracting essential oils from plants and the different parts of plants used in extraction. Your daily vitality is dependent on your ability to make lifestyle changes in four core areas: nutrient intake, metabolizing enzymes, cleansing waste and toxins from the body, and supporting healthy intestinal flora. This session will focus on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle by making smart choices about diet, exercise, and cleansing the body. At the duration of the class, you will do a fun project of making an essential oil air freshener to take home!Session 2: Emotional Health and Mood Management, Healthy Home and Body (Body System). You will learn about how essential oils can effectively influence emotions and improve mood. The instructor will explain how essential oil products can be used to help promote healthy skin and hair, along with safe guarding the home. This session will cover how each body system functions and how essential oils can help support each of them through a fun and interactive game of clue! Black Hills Brinery TourInformation about the wineries and breweries and their products will be part of the bus tour, as will some general wine information. However, the majority of the day focuses on enjoying beer and wine in the Black Hills, while someone else does the driving! Lunch, souvenirs, wine/beer purchases, some tastings and other miscellaneous things are all paid for by the individuals. Lunch at Belle Joli in Sturgis will be set up for us, but paid for on own. Wine or beer with the meal may be an additional cost. Tastings at different stops may have their own fees. Remember to bring (or buy) growlers to fill with beer at each stop.

Dog ObedienceLearn effective dog obedience techniques. Dogs or puppies must be leashed at all times. Handlers must be old enough and strong enough to handle the dog. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks or older, anything younger must be approved by the instructor. Please bring a six foot leash (not retractable), a choke collar and doggie treats. Dogs must be up-to-date with shots. Please bring shot records to the first class. Shot records must be signed by a licensed veterinarian.

DRIVER’S EDUCATIONDriver’s EducationThere is a total of 30 classroom hours and 18 vehicle hours for this course. High school students will receive high school credit for taking this course. Students need to be 15 years of age or older and have a learners permit by Tuesday, March 8. A sign-up sheet will be available at the EWC Newcastle Outreach office.
