Knotting is a surprisingly simple and straight-forward skill. You’ll learn traditional knotting between beads as well as spaced knotting (fl oating bead effect). You can bring beads and a clasp or

choose beads during the break. Either way, we’ll help you select the right size stringing material.

Bead & Cord “ORIGINAL” LOOMED WRAP BRACELET - $35

Instructor: Nicky Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None The “original” loomed wrap bracelet, seen in upscale boutiques and catalogs. We’ll show you how the pros do it. With the jig, the bracelets are made in half the time and with none of the hassles of the clipboard method. Class price includes the jig for you to keep, leather and a

button ($25 value). You bring the beads (4mm-6mm). If need be, there will be time to choose beads in the class.

“IT” WRAP BRACELET- $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None

The wrap bracelet is the “it” bracelet for any season. Our exclusive and super easy off loom, highly portable method ensures superior durability and lots of design options to set your bracelet apart. It’s a great way to use up all those left over beads. Bring an assortment of 6mm beads and smaller. In class, you’ll learn

to make the three turn version, but you can go as bold as you want.

BEGINNING PEYOTE STITCH - $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None

This is a great class for the aspiring seed bead artist. You’ll become familiarized with different beading threads, needles and a variety of seed beads, as well as the off-loom tech-

nique. You will make peyote stitch tubes for unique earrings in class. All supplies for the tube earrings are included. Starting the bracelet is an option - all techniques for the bracelet will be

covered. Bracelet will not be completed in class.

BEGINNING RIGHT ANGLE WEAVE - $35 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None

Learn the basics of single needle, right angle weave from Nicky, author of Beaded Amulet Purses. She knows this stitch. The bracelet is a wonderful project to introduce to your repertoire. The bracelet will not be completed in class, but can be fi nished at home.

There is an optional free follow-up session for those who would like help putting the fi nish-ing touches on the bracelet.

Prerequisite: Beginning Peyote Stitch or equivalent (understanding of basic Peyote is a must) This looks diffi cult but it’s not – learn to add the decreases and move away from the

basic peyote rectangle bracelet. The bracelet will not be completed in class, but every step will be shown so you can fi nish at home. There is an optional free follow-up session for those

who would like assistance putting the fi nishing touches on their bracelets.

Learn basic macramé to make these great fashionable bracelets. You’ve seen these in the small boutiques and fashion catalogs. This class is designed for children who are interested in having fun learning about beads. They will learn what beads are made of, how to create patterns, and to identify focal beads, accent beads and fi ller beads. No experience necessary. Chainmaille 101 will introduce you to chainmaille and the basic techniques required to use metal rings to create fl owing metal chains for bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more. In this class you will learn how

to smoothly and consistently open and close jump rings, and apply that technique to create a bracelet in the classic Byzantine chainmaille weave. We will also talk about tools and various metals that can be used to create

chainmaille, and give you details about how to create larger and smaller versions of Byzantine chain.

BYZANTINE: BEYOND THE BASICS- $25 Instructor: Trina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Chainmaille 101

Byzantine is often our fi rst chainmaille weave. It is also one of the most versatile. In this class, you will learn how to make Byzantine Rose earrings, a Romanov Pendant and a Flat Byzantine Bracelet. We will also discuss how to take each of these projects and make them into several other fi nished pieces (for example, the

Byzantine Rose earrings make a great bracelet). We’ll discuss how to fi nd the perfect size for a Byzantine weave, and some great tips and tricks for working with jump rings.

Chainmaille doesn’t have to be fl at! In this class you will make two very different earrings, both wonderful examples of the many shapes you can create with different chainmaille weaves. First, the Knot Earring, a classic

shape, perfect for everyday wear and for showing off mixed metals. Second, a creative dimensional earring I call a Hot Air Balloon, perfect to decorate.

Epoxy Resin & Clay

RESIN II - $45 EMBEDDING, CASTING & MOLD MAKING

Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Resin I or equivalent For those who are familiar with the basics of working with resin, this is the next step. In this fast paced class you will learn a wide variety of new skills that will unleash your imagination, including using molds,

embedding 2D and 3D objects (for a layered, textured or fl oating effect), coating paper and fabric in resin and more. You will also learn how to make your own mold from an existing object. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Please do not wear loose clothing to class. There will be a free, optional second session to learn professional fi nishing

techniques and address any issues or questions you might have about your cured pieces.

You will learn the basics of using epoxy resin to create custom picture pendants. We will cover techniques for fi lling bezels and doming tiles using photographs, decorative paper, printed images or other 2D objects. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Please do not wear loose clothing to class. Learn the basics of working with epoxy clay in this class. This is a great new product on the market that can be worked like clay, can be used as a very strong adhesive, and cures without heat or special equipment into a solid, durable piece. In class you will learn the basics of working with epoxy

clay and adding embellishments to create pendants and focal beads.

COLD ENAMELING - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: Any

Prerequisite: Resin I or equivalent (must be comfortable mixing and using 2 part epoxy resin) Cold enameling adds lasting color and depth to your jewelry pieces. The effect is like kiln enameling,

but without the glass powders or heat. The process is quick, easy to learn, and opens up new creative possibilities, including custom colors. In this class you will learn different techniques to achieve a wide range of effects. Please do not wear loose clothing to class. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and

heavier gauges of wire, texturing techniques, hammers, jigs, fi les, mandrels and other wire working tools. You’ll begin work on an advanced project of your choice, utilizing your new skills. Feel free to bring any unfi nished wire projects that have

you stumped or wire design problems you need help with. Bring any stones, wire, or beads you’d like to incorporate into a project, and your imagination.

This class will teach you a fast and easy way to make your own wire wrapped, realistic looking bird’s nest pendant. You will have time in class to learn the technique and then practice making multiple nests. Once you learn this tech-nique, you will be able personalize your nests with different numbers and colors of ‘eggs’ and adapt your nests to make earrings as well.

Metal Smithing

LAYERED RIVETED RINGS - $25 Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None

This is a creative and fun class for the beginning student to get acquainted with designing and working with tools and metals. In class you’ll learn how to texture, layer, dap and rivet pre cut metal

shapes and fi ligree. You will leave class with knowledge of how to choose suitable elements for simple riveting and an awesome, one of a kind ring.

Easy to wear and versatile, bangle bracelets are always a popular fashion accessory. In class you will create at least 2 different bangles that can be worn separately or stacked. You’ll learn how to cut and/or

use pre-cut bracelet blanks, fi le, texture, patina and rivet, using standard tack rivets.

TEXTURED, DAPPED & COLORED DISC BRACELETS - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner

Prerequisite: Some experience with wire working or metals helpful but not mandatoryLearn some great new metals skills while creating a linked disc bracelet in this fast paced and fun metals class. We will cover a variety of new tools and techniques, including: texturing, dapping, piercing, coloring and assembly. These are versatile skills that you can apply in a variety of ways to your metal and wire work.

INTRODUCTION TO THE BUTANE TORCH - $25BALLED END HEADPINS

Instructor: Christina Level: Any Prerequisite: None If you make jewelry with wire, it’s likely you use plenty of headpins. This class is designed for those who want to reduce their costs on fi ndings and add another personal element to their work. The torch used in class is easy to work with and not scary at all. Students will learn the most basic metal smithing technique for creating balled headpins with fi ne silver, sterling silver and copper. This class covers safe use of a butane torch, basic equipment and the least toxic chemicals needed for working

with these metals (some of them simple household products) along with pertinent chemical safety considerations. This is a great class to begin working with fi re and the many possibilities it offers.

Please do not wear very loose clothing or open toed shoes to class.

You will also learn how to create a versatile connector fi nding with heavy gauge wire, and techniques and tools for cutting and piercing repur-

posed tin. You will complete a quick and easy pair of earrings in class.

DOUBLE SIDED ETCHING - $40 INITIAL NECKLACES & BRACELETS

Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire I or equivalent Create your own fashion ID necklace or bracelet in this intermediate level etching class. Students will learn to transfer a drawing or stamped letter image onto a copper blank and create an etched surface on both sides. This is another simple and

easy process to replicate at home. Feel free to bring rubber alphabet stamps. Wear play clothes!

Metal Smithing

FOLD FORMING METAL - LEAVES - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Prerequisite: Introduction to the Butane Torch (must be comfortable using a butane torch) and Wire I or equivalent

Turn fl at metal shapes into textured, dimensional leaf components for jewelry. In this fundamental metals class, students will learn the versatile and extremely fun skill of fold form-

ing. Take your basic torch and metal skills in a whole new direction while creating a metal garden of unique pieces. In class, students will learn how to anneal metal and use simple texturing,

patinas and fi nishing techniques to create a necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings.

(LIMIT: 6 STUDENTS)Sunday, May 26th 10:30-5:30pm

FOLD FORMED CUFF - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Prerequisite: Introduction to the Butane Torch (must be comfortable using a butane torch) and Wire I or equivalents

The cuff bracelet has always been a popular fashion choice. It is easy to wear and can either be simple and elegant, or bold and dramatic. In this class

you’ll begin with measuring, cutting and annealing heavier gauge copper or brass. You will learn simple fold forming techniques, and how to apply both heat

and solution patinas. You’ll leave class with a unique cuff of your own design.

(LIMIT: 6 STUDENTS)Saturday, May 4th 10:30-5:30pm

LADIES NIGHT OUTLADIES NIGHT OUT Want a night away from the kids? Could your offi ce team use some off-site bonding? Beadworld has just what you’re looking for! Host your next gathering at Beadworld. For $20 a person (plus cost of beads) you and your group will get 3 hours of fun and the entire store to yourself! Choose between bead stringing or earrings and we’ll help you with the rest. You will be guided through color choices, design and construction, and fi nish with a great new piece of jewelry. Although we don’t have a suggested “bead budget” for adult gatherings, we recommend you have a “bead budget” per person to keep costs under control. The staff will help everyone stay within the designated budget. Feel free to bring treats and/or drink, but be sure to let the staff know so that party activities can be planned accordingly.

Host your child’s birthday party at Beadworld before or after offi cial store hours. Party guests will have the store to themselves for 2 hours and the full attention of one or two staff members to assist them in creating a necklace. We recommend setting a per child “bead budget” and staff can help them stay within that limit. Fee is $15.00 per child plus a $5.00 suggested spending limit. Feel free to bring treats and/or drink, but be sure to let the staff know so that party activities can be planned accordingly.

Private instruction is now available for those who require more fl exibility in scheduling. If you prefer to learn one-on-one, want to focus on a particular skill or technique, or enjoy a special class for just friends/family, Beadworld instructors are happy to schedule private or semi-private classes at your convenience.
