The Bronx Forum at Hostos Community College

The Impact of Health Care Reform in the BronxWhat it means for you and your organization

DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN EARLY 2011Savoy Building, Multi-Purpose Room, 120 East Walton Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is fast approaching as a timeline is being drawn and new lawsare written each day. How will this all affect the Bronx? The health care field? Small busi-ness? Non-profit, community, and faith-based organizations? Individuals?

At this conference, we will hear about changes straight from the source: the United StatesDepartment of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the New York State Department ofHealth/Insurance Department. A respondent panel made up of Bronx community and organi-zational leaders representing a cross-section of sectors and vulnerable groups will raise issues, questions, concerns, and engage in a dialogue to help participants better understand the ACAimpact on the Bronx.

A follow-up series taking a closer look at the impact of health care on vulnerable community groups such

as youth, elderly, immigrants, and disabled will take place over the course of the year.

The Center for Bronx Non-Profits (CBNP) is a new initiative betweenHostos Community College and CAUSE-NY, the intergroup relationsdivision of the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY (JCRC-NY).CBNP is a convening, training, and resource-sharing space, working to strengthen thecapacity of community leaders and organiza-
