Measurement and documentation

Precision measuring equipment used by Lechler ensures that the data we publish in our literature regarding our nozzles’ flow rates, spray angles, and droplet sizes and distribution is accurate within tight tolerances. The Laser-Doppler Particle Analyzer, our spray jet measuring device with 3D presentation, liquid distribution measurement systems, and other equipment provide useful data about our products’ performance and spray characteristics. Spray solutions for the metals industry

Nobody has more experience in the design and manufacture of nozzle systems for the primary metals industry than Lechler. The Lechler SCALEMASTER® descaling nozzle is the acknowledged standard among steel mill builders and steel producers throughout the world, having led the way in the industry for more than 40 years. Over many decades of time, we have developed and enhanced our range of nozzles and systems for use through out the metals industry. Our experience in roll cooling systems for cold mills of steel rolling plants is unchallenged by any other spray nozzle manufacturer. Lechler’s SELECTO SPRAY® differential roll cooling nozzles provide the precision control of shape and flatness which that process requires. The Whisperblast® air knifesystem has set new standards in the removal of residual coolant and rolling oils from steel strips prior to coiling or reprocessing.

Spray solutions for the food and beverage industry

Many applications in the food and beverage industry require the use of Lechler spray nozzles. For food product washing, Lechler flat fan and full cone nozzles provide efficient cleaning capabilities. Lechler’s new Foam Whirly combines water and detergent to create foam for hygienic cleaning. AirMist air atomizing nozzles create the low volume, even application that equipment sterilization requires. For food coating, such as applying icing on crackers or butter to the top of bread, Lechler’s ViscoMist air atomizing nozzles accurately spray even these more viscous materials.

Lechler’s tank cleaning product line is unsurpassed. These effectively clean food and beverage process tanks and vessels, even as large as fermentation tanks at wineries. Sanitary connections and food grade materials are available.

Spray solutions for the pharmaceutical industry

In the process of pharma-ceutical preparation, which includes the manufacturing and processing of drugs intended for human con-sumption or veterinary use, nozzles play a significant role. Whether creating drugs in the form of tablets, capsules, vials, ointments, powders, or suspensions, there are three main processes where nozzles are used.

In the coating process, very fine droplets, often 50 mi crons or less, can be applied by AirMist air atomizing nozzles. This ensures a uniform coverage across the product.

The powder creation process can use Lechler nozzles for spray drying materials for use in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

For the tank cleaning process, Lechler has a variety of nozzles for the internal cleaning of tanks and vessels up to 50 feet in diameter. Tank cleaning nozzles made out of PTFE material efficiently clean the inside of vessels and tanks without any damage to linings, such as glass, and even under high temperature conditions. PTFE nozzles with sanitary connections are also available.

Spray solutions for the electronics industry

Lechler is a leading supplier to the electronics industry, producing a variety of nozzle types for spray coating, etching, rinsing, and washing. A spray nozzle is a vital contributor in the precision manufacturing of printed circuit boards. The PCB production process requires an etchant to be sprayed evenly and accurately to both sides of the board. The quality of this spray process determines the quality of the finished board. Once the process is complete, the boards are rinsed and cleaned, again using spray nozzles. Flat fans and full cones in inexpensive PVDF material are used for these processes.

During the attachment of the electronic components, nozzles are used to spray flux onto the reverse side of the board to ensure secure connections. Then the board is blown dry, this time with an air nozzle like Lechler’s Whisperblast.

Not only does Lechler sell nozzles direct to electronics end users, we are a leading supplier of nozzles to manufacturers of equipment used in the PCB-making process. So if you have such equipment, you may already be using Lechler spray nozzles.

Spray solutions for the automotive industry

In the manufacturing of automobiles and their components, spraying ideas from Lechler are used to improve many processes. These include surface treatment, mechanical fabrication, assembly functions, and quality assurance.

In surface treatment applications, use of Lechler’s Easy Clip nozzle assembly is an easy and inexpensive way to build a spray header. Our MEMOSPRAY® nozzle assembly goes a step further by not only being able to use the Easy Clip base but also by reducing maintenance time when cleaning or replacing nozzles. This is because the MEMOSPRAY retains its pre-set position without the need to readjust it when replacing the nozzle.

Lechler nozzles are used for degreasing, phosphate treatment, cleaning and conservation. Basic products such as our flat fans, full cones, and Whisperblast air nozzles are used for these and other processes such as testing for leaks and determining stopping distance on aquaplane surfaces. Our experience in the automotive field can help manufacturers meet their process and quality requirements.

Air pollution affects our environment. Lechler helps control it — by cooling and cleaning exhaust gases from power stations, cement works, chemical plants, incinerators, and factories. We help these installations meet the EPA requirements for clean air.

Lechler first determines the volume flow rates and droplet spectrum of the water required for the proc ess. Our experienced engineers then use this information to design spray lance systems and equipment tailor-made for each application’s unique requirements. Ease of maintenance and replacement are key factors when designing these systems. Lechler also achieves these goals with its complete solutions which have been repeatedly proven in use in gas-generating installations around the world.

Spray solutions for agriculture

Pest management and fertilizer application produce healthier plants and higher crop yields. Each of these results can be achieved by precise spray application. The Lechler Group, in association with crop protection product and spraying equipment manufacturers, has developed an entire range of nozzles for the agricultural industry, all of which conform to national and international standards.

40 PSI inlet pressure and is interchangeable with a nozzle of the same type built by another company.
