Rapid Response

by Karen Booth – Unscheduled Care Team, Carlisle

Rapid Response Team, prompt nursing's our claim

Admission prevention, that is our aim.

Early discharges; we facilitate those too,

With the help of our friends in the rehab crew!

You name it, we sort it,

There is little we can’t do,

From IVs to catheters, wound care and (poo!)

Caring for patients, when poorly and alone,

The name of the game is "Closer to Home!!"

A referral by phone call and we are on our way ...

May not see the desk for the rest of the day.

The car is our office, we carry quite a load,

Any more in the boot and it may just explode!

We're a friendly bunch and we all get on grand,

With Angie at the helm as a guiding hand!

Three years hard work, developing a team

When you see us in action, well we work like a dream!!

Liaising, assessing and coordinating care,

Mix these together and we're almost there.

Add understanding, kindness and professional skills

Then we're ready to manage most of your ills!

Keeping patients at home is our primary aim

Providing quality healthcare that's the name of the game!!
