Mondo Tufting has been the R&D and production centre for the Mondo group’s turf sportsfields since 2002. A founding member of ESTO (European Synthetic Turf Organisation), the

company has been a FIFA licensee since 2001. With over 12,000 sq.m of production in the MondoTufting plant in Borja (Zaragoza), develops, produces and supplies turf sports fields for

the entire Mondo group around the world. The strength of Mondo’s lies in its ability to develop and produce all of the components that comprise a turf field system, from the production of the filaments to

the tufting process and the final finishing.

Since 2002, Mondo has been the unquestioned leader of development, production and marketing of synthetic surfaces purposely designed for padel tennis; we are the first company to create products types that are approved

and certified by the Spanish Padel Federation.

Fans of this sport from the beginning, we have developed a specific range of products for both top level competitions and games at the youth level. With more than 9,000 padel courts installed around the world, Mondo is a leader in the market for this type of sport surface.

Mondo Tufting, the synthetic turf manufacturing hub for the Mondo group worldwide, is located in Borja, near Zaragoza, Spain. It meets the requirements of European Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, also known as the REACH (for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals) regulation, which entered effect on 1 June 2007.

Main advantages

The new monofibre STX continues the success of the 4NX fibre, but with several significant innovations.

It incorporates a straight structure with central rib which acts as a fibre tensioner.

The new optimized structure improves the durability of the narrowest part of the fibre, freeing it from the stress of the pressure created by the player’s interaction. We have reduced the thickness and increased the diameter of the fibre in order to give the ball greater speed on the pitch, as well as to reduce its wear

The fibre has been subjected to severe stress tests and extreme use in the laboratory. It has been demonstrated that the new morphological structure improves the capacity for recovery, considerably reducing

the wear caused by the friction of the sand and maintaining the capacity for resistance to rotational and linear traction (grip) and the angular and vertical bounce of the ball.

New STX fibre: specifically designed for tennis, paddle and multisport

Thickness of the fibreThe new thickness of 250 micron, combined with the exclusive structure,

gives the fibres a greater capacity for elastic memory. The dimensional memory is produced by optimizing the fibre’s capacity to return to its original state following player-surface interaction.

Diameter of the fibreThe fibre’s new diameter of 1.3 mm, combined with the new thickness and

exclusive structure, gives the fibre greater resilience. The bounce of the ball is faster, more uniform, and more controlled, and with less wear: given that the felt remains in good condition for longer, the durability of the ball increases.

World Padel TourOfficial Supplier

Mondo has been the supplier of the turf field for the centre court right from the start of the Padel Pro Tour circuit (PPT). Since 2012, it has provided the turf

field for the centre court of the World Padel Tour. For the 2017 edition Mondo has developped a specific turf system that besides having excellent sports

performance perfectly meets the needs of World Padel Tour.

Mondoturf’s artificial grass for padel courts has also been used for the centre court of the World Championship (Barcelona 2012, Palma 2014, Malaga 2015).

RANGE OF PRODUCTS FOR MULTISPORT SURFACES

A variety of sports can be played on artificial grass at scholastic, educational or recreational level if the surface meets a sports function whose essential prerequisite is the safety of those using the facilities. As it is subjected to intense use however, the surface must also ensure a certain technical function - the long-term resistance of the playing conditions. To guarantee these sports technical conditions, Mondo recommends artificial grass with a fibre 10-28 mm high, produced with a 5/16 and/or 3/16”

gauge, and fillers of quartz sand and granulated rubber.Mondo produces artificial grass surfaces with its STX, 4NX and Mondoturf NSF filaments.

The addition of the Fine Tuned elastic underlayment beneath the artificial grass helps enormously to improve the durability of the sports surface, thereby ensuring excellent playing conditions.

A variety of sports can be played on artificial grass at scholastic, educational or recreational level if the surface meets a sports function whose essential prerequisite is the safety of those using the facilities. As it is subjected to intense use however, the surface must also ensure a certain technical function - the long-term resistance of the playing conditions. To guarantee these sports technical conditions, Mondo recommends artificial grass with a fibre 10-28 mm high, produced with a 5/16 and/or 3/16”

gauge, and fillers of quartz sand and granulated rubber.Mondo produces artificial grass surfaces with its STX, 4NX and Mondoturf NSF filaments.

The addition of the Fine Tuned elastic underlayment beneath the artificial grass helps enormously to improve the durability of the sports surface, thereby ensuring excellent playing conditions.
