How many ways can you thinkof to reduce pain of a lowerleg/foot injury?

How many ways can youthink of to increase range of motion of yourankle, foot and toes?

OBJECTIVES:

rehabilitation. 3. Identify the specific therapeutic

actions for each phase. 4. Create an outline for a rehab plan

for a lower extremity injury.

TERMINOLOGY:Therapeutic—Healing actionPhase I-Pain Management-Timeimmediately following injury or surgery which movement in affected part is limited to ease painPhase II- Range of Motion- Time when therapeutic action initiated including joint range-of-motion, mobility and flexibility exercises

Terminology

Phase III-Proprioception training- the body relearning the ability to sense the position of its limbs during movement; includes balance

Phase IV- Resistive Training- to increase muscle strength

 .

Terminology

Phase V- Endurance Training- for both the cardiovascular and muscle systems to perform work over a period of time

Phase VI- Sport Specific Function- is where athlete mimics specific sport-like or functional activity. This leads to full resumption of activity.

PHASE I
