Clint Malarchuk Gets Neck SlicedMarch 22, 1989 was the date that Clint Malarchuk got hit by a skate during a hockey game between the St.Louis Blues and Clint’s Buffalo Sabres. One player of each team came back straight at Malarchuk and tried to hit each other. But the St.Louis player lost his balance and was hit by a skate to his neck and began to bleed large amounts of blood. He did survive the injury thanks to the help of the team doctor who helped him stop the bleeding with a towel. He later had surgery and survived.

It was when the ball came straight at him and he had to bend over rail but he fell head first, 20 feet down and died right in front of the eyes of his son.
