Pilates

Pilates focuses on controlling the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced, providing essential support to the spine. Pilates teaches awareness of the breath and the alignment of the spine. These sessions will leave you feeling centred, calm and refocused.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi originated from the martial arts; the slow, graceful movements are designed to focus the mind and breathing to alleviate the stresses of everyday life. The continual fluid movements have a sedative effect upon the central nervous system which helps to stimulate improvements to the body’s other systems. It is calming and de-stressing and assists motor control over balance and can help the posture by loosening tight muscles.

Yoga

The word yoga means “union” referring to the union of the mind, body and spirit. Yoga is one of the most widely practised of the spiritual disciplines. The postures used in yoga have been developed over thousands of years as a systematic means of exercising every part of the body. Yoga can help prevent illnesses by boosting the immune system. It also encourages relaxation and can alleviate back pain as well as improving circulation.

Dance Classes Salsa

Salsa is the Spanish word for sauce (a spicy flavour). Salsa also suggests a “mixture” of ingredients, hence the dance. Its roots originate in Cuba and Puerto Rico. Salsa is a flirtatious and fun dance that creates energy on the dance floor.

Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing involves a variety of dance moves including waltz, foxtrot, cha cha cha, samba, quick step and jive. The combination of all of these dance styles results in a comprehensive introduction to the ballroom/Latin experience.

Zumba

This fitness course is an exciting fusion of interval training incorporating dance influenced steps, such as Salsa, Merengue, Samba and Reggaton. Zumba is full of Latin flavour and is fun for everyone.

Chair/Burlesque

A great way to workout, this fitness course teaches dance/burlesque moves using a chair. No dance experience is necessary as this course is designed to progress through the moves. Each week you will be taught specific moves, which will be put together to perform routines at the end of each session.

Racket Sports Squash

Squash is considered the faster paced more energetic of the racket sports and provides a great all round workout. Our courses are aimed at all levels and will allow you to develop technique, movement and game play, with an added bonus of improving your fitness and coordination skills.

Tennis

Tennis is one of the best sports for stamina, body conditioning, flexibility, functional strength and honing your reactions with those high-speed serves. It’s also good for your coordination and mental agility, encouraging quick reactions and strategic thinking. If you are keen to exercise outdoors and want to try a new sport, then give tennis a try.

Lifestyle Courses

Lifestyle courses run throughout the year.
