About Baja SAEThe Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) organizes competitions for colleges across the country and around the world. Mini Baja is one of the competitions created for students to design and build a Baja Vehicle to compete against other colleges.

Competitions typically consist of 100 teams to compete in various dynamic and static events. The most popular events seen are suspension and traction, maneuverability and endurance race. The static events include a sales pitch and cost report presented to a panel of engineers working in the motorsport and automotive industry.

‘Cuse BAJA is a Registered Student Organization at Syracuse University. We are composed of undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Engineering and Computer Science.

We are restarting the organization after an 8 year pause to strengthen our Formula SAE Team. We are currently designing and beginning the manufacturing process for our 2017-18 vehicle.

Who Are We?

Our MissionThe purpose of ‘Cuse BAJA is to provide a hands on experience to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom. We strive to provide a team environment for students to build on their leadership and cooperation skills throughout the year.

The goal of our team is to complete our first Mini Baja vehicle in 8 years. We aim to bring our vehicle to competition and to promote Syracuse University along with the local Syracuse community.

With the organization’s classification under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, Your donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

Your sponsorship also serves as advertising. ‘Cuse BAJA will appear in newspapers and academic publications where sponsors are able to gain more exposure.
