Hillsboro Parks & Recreation makes it easy for you to reach multiple audiences and can create a sponsorship package to suit your needs! Let us know what your goals are and who your orgaization would like to reach and we will prepare a sponsosrship package that will help you reach your specific target audiences for the next year or longer.

Other Ways to Support Recreation and Nature in Hillsboro:

In-kind/Trade - Budget relieving goods & services - We are happy to receive in-kind donations that fit our needs and we will work with you to negotiate trade sponsorships with extensive promotional/marketing benefits. We are open to various in-kind and trade sponsorships, and are specifically in need of supplies and services such as: • printing of flyers and brochures • nursery plants and flowers• food for volunteer and special events • staff and volunteer t-shirts• advertising in local mediums • materials and supplies for after school programs• giveaways for event prizes.

Volunteer! Hillsboro Parks & Recreation has a wide range of volunteer opportunities, and volunteering is a great way to get involved and give back to the community! Volunteers dedicate

thousands of valuable hours each year to our various programs, projects and events throughout the park system. One of our most popular programs is the Adopt-a-Park program, where an organization can adopt one of our parks or facilities and help us keep it in tip-top shape for the community to enjoy.

City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation is an award-winning and nationally accredited parks and recreation agency. We are dedicated to providing diverse, innovative and exceptional recreational and cultural opportunities that enrich the lives of our citizens.

We serve the Hillsboro community with more than 1,500 acres of parks and open spaces, a wide array of recreational facilities and a multitude of recreational, educational and cultural programs for all ages. Each year we interact with hundreds of thousands of people, and through our extensive recreation programs and special events we offer exposure to more than 150,000 people of all ages. With ever increasing demand for these valuable but costly recreation services, combined with the far-reaching community-wide benefi t of more participation, we are seeking partners to help us provide key opportunities to even more of the community.

Youth Programs:

After School ProgramsOur valuable elementary and middle school after school programs serve all elementary and middle schools in the Hillsboro School District. These programs serve more than 4,000 Hillsboro youth each year and the demand is ever growing.

Sponsors help us serve even more children and, depending on sponsorship level, receive recognition through various sources - program materials, press releases, Hillsboro Parks & Recreation website and E-newsletters, social media, promotion at schools, a “Community Youth Champion” banner at

Gordon Faber Recreation Complex. Sponsor employees can volunteer to help with the programs, and sponsors may also have the opportunity to provide educators/experts to visit programs to share an approved educational program with children.

BLAST (Bringing Leadership, Arts and Sports Together) fi ve day-per-week after-school youth enrichment program serves children in 1st-6th grades at 21 Hillsboro elementary schools. The actual cost of BLAST is more than $1,000 per child per year!

After-School Homework Help Clubs at four elementary and two middle schools, funded by the Hillsboro Schools Foundation.

The Zone after-school youth enrichment program at all four middle schools, funded with help from the Washington County Commission on Children & Families.

Intramural After-School Sports at all four middle schools.

Youth Programs...continued:

The Outpost - This nine-week long award-winning summer youth program at Shute Park and Shadywood Park serves as many as 500 youth each day with free lunch and activities. That’s an estimated 10,000-12,000 individual youth per summer along with their parents. Season and weekly sponsorships provide sponsors with visibility in promotional materials and press releases, and also the option of being on-site during their week to provide or help with an activity and interact with children and parents.

Special Events:

Youth/Family Sports - Sponsorship of these events includes logo and/or name inclusion in promotional fl yers and press releases, on-site booth space and recognition at event.Youth Turkey Trot (November)- a free fun run on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving for youth up to 8th grade that attracts 200-300 youth plus their families. All Comers Track Meets (July/Aug)- a series of fi ve free summer Wednesday evening track meets for all ages. Attracts 400-500 participants each night. All Comers Family 5k (May-Oct)- family-friendly 5k runs at different Hillsboro parks. Attracts total 200-300 participants of all ages. Cross Country Meets (fall) - four cross-country meets for youth through 8th grade. Each meet attracts 200 youth participants and their families.

All Ages/Community -Celebrate Hillsboro (August) - annual City of Hillsboro signature free family-friendly festival in downtown Hillsboro. Village areas showcase Arts & Cultural, Health & Wellness, Sustainability and Community. Diverse live music, local food and drink, Saturday Farmers’ Market, and community booths. 10,000 attendees. Showtime at Shute (July-Aug) - annual free summer concert series at Shute Park. Seven weeks of diverse and popular music. Attracts an average of 1,500 concerts goers each week. Hillsboro Fitness Challenge (Jan-May) - 15-week program designed to give participants tools to begin or enhance a successful and healthy lifestyle. Program for anyone looking to get healthier and more active. Averages 100 participants of all ages.

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation offers speciality sponsorships at our recreational facilities that include Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center, Hillsboro Community Senior Center, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve and Shute Park Aquatic Center (SHARC), We offer various sponsorship opportunities of overall programs, classes and events. These facilities support arts and culture, fi tness and wellness, nature play, and adult living in Hillsboro. Sponsors can receive acknowledgment in thousands of printed promotional materials, on the website, and during the program, class or event.
