On behalf of the Ministry and in cooperation with the International Labour

Organization and the International Social Security Association, it gives me

immense pleasure to invite you all to the XIX World Congress to be

held from September 11 to 15, 2011 in Istanbul which is the capital of

culture for 2010 and the cradle of civilizations for centuries. Working in a

safe and healthy environment is among the most fundamental human rights

of the working people in the world. Within this framework, the World

Congress aims at contributing to ensure the sharing of knowledge and good

practices in the field of occupational safety and health among developing

countries, countries with economies in transition and developed countries.

Once more it will be emphasized through the World Congress that occupational safety and

health is also of utmost importance for both employees and society due to the process of

economic change faced by the world in recent years. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security

would like to meet you all at a great, well-attended and fruitful event to be held in Turkey in 2011,

that will give the opportunity to exchange information among occupational safety and health

professionals, employers and managers, trade union representatives, policy makers, public

administration authorities, insurance and social security institutions, manufacturers

and importers, and all those interested in building a global preventive culture. Your participation

in the XIX World Congress will be deeply appreciated. Please enjoy the many excellent sessions

offered at the World Congress and take time to visit and explore Istanbul, a fascinating city

Organized every three years since 1955, 19th World Congress on Safety and Health at Work will be

organized in Turkey in year 2011. First Congress was conducted in Rome and the last one, the 18th,

was conducted in Seoul in 2008. Congress, which gives the opportunity to exchange information and

create new ideas for prevention of occupational diseases and accidents at work to all who participate,

is the greatest event organized in this field. Since 1993, the last six congress has been organized,

respectively in India, Spain, Brasil, Austria, USA and South Korea.

The object of World Congress is ensuring opportunity of exchange of new information on

occupational health and safety among related ones for the aim of introducing culture of prevention

worldwide. The target of the who are to be participated at World Congress is to get an idea about how

the relations will be enhanced among governments, employers, non-governmental organizations,

employer representatives, employees and their organizations and occupational health and safety

professionals in order to eliminate occupational injuries and diseases in whole world. It is also

expected that occupational safety and health practicers will gain information on the practical ideas

which could be immediately adapted and put into practice. World Congress on Safety and Health at

Work is related to the people directly or indirectly dealing with occupational health and safety:

•High governmental authorities, high-level decision-makers, top managers, marketing leaders,

In our country this task is realised by Ministry of Labour and Social Security, General Diroctarate of

Occupational Health and Safety.

As a result of desicion taken by International Organization Comittee Meeting, Congress is goning to

take place at Halic Congress Centre between 11th and 15th September 2011. Taking into

consideration that cultural and historical characteristics of Turkey, especially Istanbul, it is expected

that participant amount is going to come up 5000 people, impending of 2000 is alien. OHS

Exhibition will also take place simultaneously with the World Congress on Health and Safety at Work

and aims to measure the pulse of the sector by focusing on many current and pressing topics

presented by speakers specialised in the OHS sector. Local and international companies and

institutions specialising in safety at work equipment, work clothes, road and traffic security, personal

protectors, fire safety, measuring technologies and detectors, stocking equipment, environmental

hygiene and industrial cleaning equipment, first aid equipment, loading and off loading, removal, and

as well as the Media will join the Exhibition. OHS participants will have the opportunity to introduce

their products and services to professional buyers.

Program

Program is formed by general and technical sessions, symposiums, high attented opening and

closing ceremony. Congress program is going to be completed with IFMF, OHS Exhibition, Poster

presentation and lectern to be done about main themes and slogan of International Congress

International Film and Multimedia Festival

The International Film and Multimedia Festival is an integral part of the XIX World Congress on

Safety and Health at Work. It will take place in Istanbul from September 12 to 14, 2011. The

Festival offers an overview of films and multimedia productions from all over the world and

provides an opportunity for participants to present their projects to a major group of influential

international safety and health professionals.

Technical, Cultural, Social Activites

Technical tours included in full registration will give an opportunity to the participants to see good

practices at different sectors. Daily tours will be arranged free of charge to the historical, touristic

and cultural sights of Istanbul

Special Meetings

Meeting rooms will be assigned upon request for Professional Health and Safety Occupation

Groups and the other related groups.

• Company‟s logo will appear larger than other types of sponsorships on printed event

Materials (poster, flyer, event catalogue) and will be placed on top in all graphic design

applications.

• Two pages (2) colored advertising in exhibition catalogue shall be provided.

• Sponsors can use a meeting room for 2 hours free of charge. (Food and drink and technical

equipment to be used will be provided by the sponsor. Contents of all publicity events and

meetings must be approved by the Organization Committee.)

• Sponsor‟s logo will be displayed on the acknowledgements board.

RIGHTS TO BE GIVEN TO PLATIN SPONSOR

• Sponsor „s logo shall be larger than sub category sponsor logos and smaller than Premium

sponsor logo in all printed materials ( brochure, poster, congress program etc. fair catalogue ) of

Congress and Fair and it shall tale place at the second rank in graphic design application.

At inner pages of Congress and Fair catalogues; one full page colored advertisement shall be

provided free of charge.

• Provision of free of charge and half hay tenancy of a hall available for presentation / meeting on

the day and time determined prior or after the Congress ( Food- drink to be served and technical

equipment to be used in these meetings shall be provided by the sponsor). The content of the

presentation and meetings shall be approved by the Organization Committee.

• In Congress and fair press presentation files and Cds; sponsor‟s logo shall be used.

• On the appreciation panel in press meetings, sponsor‟s logo shall be used .

• In press file to be prepared for distribution during the Congress and Fair, sponsor „s press bulletin

not more than one page shall take place.

• Sponsor‟s logo shall be included in the event 2s web site and link shall be given to sponsor „s

own web site.

• Free admittance for 10 persons shall be given to the Sponsor Company for the Congress (Names

of the attendants should be informed to the Administration until 01 September 2011 latest)

• Admittance for 4 persons shall be given to the Sponsor for VIP dining hall. (Names of the

attendants should be informed to the Administration until 01 September 2011 latest)

• Sponsor „s name shall be given to one of Eyüp-Kağıthane- Ayvansaray meeting rooms. In all

programs and directions, sponsor „s name and / or logo shall take place before the name of the

meeting room. .

• In free of charge advertisements to be provided through press sponsorships, sponsor‟s name

shall be in larger scale than sub category supportive logos and in smaller scale than premium

• Sponsor‟s logo will appear larger than Silver sponsors‟ logos and smaller than Platinum‟s logo.

Sponsors‟ logos on printed event materials (poster, flyer, event catalogue) and will come second in

all graphic design applications.

• A full page colored advertising in exhibition catalogue shall be provided.

• Sponso‟s logo will be used on the acknowledgement panel to be placed in the press meetings.

• Sponsor‟s logo will appear on the event website with a direct link.

• Sponsor firm will be provided with free 5-person-acess to congress (Names of the participants are

required to be notified to the Administration not later than September 1, 2011.)

• Sponsor firm will be provided with free 3-persons-acess to VIP dining hall. (Names of the

participants are required to be notified to the Administration not later than September 1, 2011.)

• One of Hasköy-Kasımpaşa-Balat-Aynalıkavak meeting halls shall be called after the name of

Sponsor. Name and / or logo of sponsor will be prefixed to the name of the hall in all the programs

and directions.

• In the free promotional declarations to be provided by Press Sponsorship will be sponsor‟s logos in

the larger dimension than the logos supporting sub-categories and smaller dimension than

Premium and Platinum sponsors.

• 20 m2 free of charge unfurnished (empty) stand area shall be provided.

• A place will be allocated for sponsor in „Sponsor Publicity Area‟ to be separated for the sponsor in

the congress center and whose arrangement will be determined by the Administration where

brochures and promotional materials will be placed.

SILVER SPONSORSHIP 75.000 $

RIGHTS TO BE GIVEN TO SILVER SPONSOR

Company‟s logo will appear smaller than Platinum and Gold Sponsors‟ logos on printed event

materials (poster, flyer, event catalogue) and will come third in all graphic design applications.

• Company logo will be displayed on the acknowledgements board.

• Sponsor‟s logo will appear on the event website with a direct link.

• Sponsor Company shall be given free admittance for 3 persons for the Congress(Names of the

attendants should be informed to the Administration until 01 September 2011 latest)

• Sponsor Company shall be given free admittance for 3 persons for the VIP Dinning Room(Names of

• In free advertisements to be provided through press sponsorships ,sponsor „s logo shall be larger

• A place shall be allocated for the sponsor to keep brochure and advertisement materials in the”

Sponsor Presentation Area” to be reserved for sponsors in the Congress Center and of which the

order shall be determined by the Administration .

• Sponsor „s logo shall be included in the appreciation board to be used in Congress and Fair fields

• Hand brochure to be provided by the sponsor shall be put into the bag which shall be given to

Congress attendees.

NOTES

• In case that sponsors have bad image in the field of OHS and/or when this situation is

revealed by the supervision, done by the respective department of Ministry of Labour and

Social Security, their sponsorships are going to be annulled immediately

• Topic subjects for per sponsorship are indicated above the sponsorhips‟ names.

• The other subjects that might be developped during the interviews, are going to be

atteched to the sponsorship agreement.
