The mission of St. Pius ElementarySchool is seen in action each daythrough the lives of students, faculty,and staff of the school. Students learnto live their Catholic faith through dailyreligion classes, a celebration ofliturgical seasons, feast days, and HolyDays of Obligation, and by servingthose less fortunate through apostolicservice projects.
Monthly Exposition of the BlessedSacrament and School Masses nourishfaculty, staff, and students as well asparents and grandparents of SPESstudents.
Assuring each individual student'sacademic growth and success is theprimary focus at St. Pius ElementarySchool.
The St. Pius classroom is one thatoffers a rigorous curriculum thatencourages development of criticalthinking and reasoning skills. Thecurriculum and instruction is aligned tonational standards which meet andoften exceed the highest standards ineducation. Technology is used inconjunction with some of the moretraditional "paper and pen" teachingmethods along with dynamic, hands-onmethodologies that encouragecreativity.
Programs, Instruction, and monitoringof individual student data support andencourage individual growth ofstudents across all grade levels. Weutilize research-based strategies andinstructional resources geared towarddeveloping a strong foundation, criticalthinking, and reasoning skills. Our goalis to help our students discover anddevelop their gifts and help them feelfully prepared to not only succeed butthrive when they leave St. Pius.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Promote a spirit of Christianity consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church Implement an effective religion program in accordance with the pastor's or thechancellor's wishers and diocesan policyProvide opportunities for the religious formation of faculty membersWork with the pastor(s) or the chancellor to enhance the spiritual formation of theschool communityStrive to ensure that the philosophy and mission of the school are lived
Assist local advisory council in the development of school policyImplement diocesan and local advisory policiesKeep school clientele informed through written and oral communicationsMaintain current, effective, and comprehensive handbooks for faculty, parents, andstudentsMeet diocesan deadlines and work cooperatively with the Office of Catholic SchoolsVolunteer for diocesan committee assignments and in-service projects
Apprise the diocesan committee assignments and in-service projectsEnforce admission criteria set by diocesan and school policiesPlan and supervise registration procedures

Recruit and hire individuals for professional and support staff in accordance withdiocesan policies and state requirementsProvide job descriptions for professional and support staffAssign duties and responsibilities to appropriate personnelProvide orientation for all teachers regarding the School's policies and educationalprogramsEvaluate school personnel and makes decisions relative to re-contracting or dismissalApprise pastor(s) or the chancellor of staffing decisionsApprise advisory council of staffing decisions
Develop the annual budget and operate within approved budget parametersHave bookkeeper prepare and present periodic financial reports to the councilAfford parents the opportunity to apply for available financial assistance
Maintain physical plant facilityComply with state health and safety regulations
