ASPI is a public-private partnership sponsored by the WorldIntellectual Property Organization together with the followingcommercial patent database providers to date:

Eligibility

The Access to Specialized Patent Information (ASPI) program enablespatent offices as well as academic and research institutions innumerous developing countries to benefit from access to flagshipproducts offered by the participating patent information providers forfree or a sharply reduced cost:

• In least developed countries, as defined by the United Nations,patent offices and academic and research institutions can receiveaccess to all products at no cost (Group 1).

• In selected middle income countries, as defined by the WorldBank, patent offices and academic and research institutionsreceive access at a nominal cost of 1100 Swiss francs per yearper institution for each product selected (Group 2).

• In certain developing countries, patent offices (only) receive accessat a nominal cost of 3300 Swiss francs per year per institution foreach product selected (Group 3).
