Summer Church 2015 begins on Sunday 26th July During the school holidays, our normal pattern of services is slightly revised because our K4C children’s groups don’t meet again until 13th Sept. This means that there is an all-age 9.15am Informal Service each week (apart from the 3rd Sunday in August), when we have a 10.45am United Service only), followed by a 10.45am Choral Service (usually Communion), with a 10.45am United Service on 16th August. Please join us for Summer Church 2015! This year, our Admissions Service is on Sunday 19th July at 10.45am - if your child is in Year 5 or 6 at Horwich Parish, or another Primary School, and is involved in our church activities, then please contact Stephen (468263). Dear Friends, Life is never easy—and sometimes it seems that God allows such pain and misery to fall upon us that we struggle to hold onto our belief that He hears our prayers at all, or even exists - or, if He does, could possibly love us! Not even believers are excused hard times in life, and that seems so unfair until we remember something that is at the heart of the Christian Faith - that God Himself chose to experience these things in Jesus! Jesus, who we believe to be God Incarnate - God in human form - has faced all the suffering of life as we do, and understands our pain and loss intimately, personally. God not only knows what it is to lose a precious child in the pain of the Cross, but, in the amazing community within the Christian God - Father, Son & Holy Spirit - God knows and shares all the pains that we face in life. The hymn from which the title above is taken - O Love that wilt not let me go- speaks of the weariness and pains of life that end in death, but in which Jesus offers new resurrection hope, just like the rainbow that is present when both sun and rain come together. And the rainbow was the sign of Gods promise right back in the story of Noahs flood, and I still say thank youwhenever I see a rainbow in the sky, because that reminds me of the promise and hope that Jesus brings. The weather this year has already brought its fair share of surprises - summer heat in April, hail and snow in May - but whatever seasons of the year, or of life, we may face, God promises to go there with us, if we ask Him. May these summer months be long and warm and joyful, but - if not - may we still be able to trace the rainbow through the rainand know that His love is always there for us in Jesus, our friend and Saviour. Dear Friends,

Life is never easy—and sometimes it seems that God allows such pain and misery to fall upon us that we struggle to hold onto our belief that He hears our prayers at all, or even exists - or, if He does, could possibly love us!

The hymn from which the title above is taken - ’O Love that wilt not let me go’ - speaks of the weariness and pains of life that end in death, but in which Jesus offers new resurrection hope, just like the rainbow that is present when both sun and rain come together. And the rainbow was the sign of God’s promise right back in the story of Noah’s flood, and I still say ‘thank you’ whenever I see a rainbow in the sky, because that reminds me of the promise and hope that Jesus brings.

The weather this year has already brought its fair share of surprises - summer heat in April, hail and snow in May - but whatever seasons of the year, or of life, we may face, God promises to go there with us, if we ask Him. May these summer months be long and warm and joyful, but - if not - may we still be able to ‘trace the rainbow through the rain’ and know that His love is always there for us in Jesus, our friend and Saviour.

Yours in His service, Stephen
