Archroma launched the ‘Color Atlasby Archroma®‘ in 2016, a unique tooldedicated to providing fashion designersand stylists with off-the-shelf color inspi-ration that can be implemented in pro-duction with just a few clicks.

The Color Atlas contains 4,320 colorson cotton poplin, and online, almostdouble compared to similar tools availableto textile and fashion specialists. Morebrands are turning to the Color Atlas andArchroma for color creation and imple-mentation, such as American EagleOutfitters, Athleta, Express, and Lands’End.

Archroma, announced that its Pakistan affiliatehas been named ‘Employer of the Year’ in the multi-nationals segment in a nationwide contest organizedby the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP), forthe third time in a row.

EFP granted the award in recognition ofArchroma’s best practice in human resource manage-ment, ethical marketing management and corporatesocial responsibility. Archroma always strives to main-tain the highest standards in occupational safety andhealth fostering environmental protection throughrecycling and reuse. The production site at Jamshorohas a state-of-the-art Sustainable Effluent TreatmentPlant with zero liquid discharge saving enormousamounts of water. The two production sites ofArchroma have also completed One Million Safe &Accident Free working hours and all offices in Karachihave been declared “Green Offices” by WWFPakistan. Archroma and WWF Pakistan pledgeto work for sustainable waterconservation solutions

Archroma,one of the globalleader in colorand specialtychemicals,announced it hasrenewed thepartnership withWorld WideFund for Nature(WWF Pakistan).The MoU pavesthe way forformal coopera-tion between thetwo institutions in Pakistan, leading to projects mainly related to waterconservation in the textile industry there.

Both parties officially signed the MoU in a recent ceremony at theArchroma Center of Excellence in Karachi.

The MoU will build strong ties between Archroma and WWFPakistan’s initiatives in promoting sustainable practices within the tex-tile industry using Archroma’s technical expertise toward zero liquiddischarge, software simulations in production lines, and the ArchromaONE WAY Process Simulator tool, together with research methodolo-gies in reducing water consumption and re-using water. Both institu-tions will jointly strive to raise awareness amongst the textile sectorthrough training programs by introducing new process models with afuturistic approach.

Speaking at the occasion, Mujtaba Rahim, CEO, Archroma PakistanLimited, said: “We at Archroma are very proud to join hands withWWF for a cause that is close to our heart, and we strongly believethat water conservation is the key to the sustainability of our industry.We believe in continuous improvement, and through this important ini-tiative we are confident to improve upon the depleting water reserves,especially in Sindh. Archroma joins handswith LahoreUniversity OfEngineering &Technology to fosterinnovative researchin textiles

Archroma, a global leader in color andspecialty chemicals, announced it hassigned a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the University of Engineering& Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan.The MoU will pave way for cooperationinitially for a five-year period.

The partnership will explore innovationsin textile research with futuristic visualizationfor Pakistan to help the Pakistan textileindustry to keep in line with the fast pace ofglobal apparel requirements and evolutions.Both partners will jointly hold sessions to pre-pare students for the challenges of the textileindustry through in-house training sessions,developmental projects, research in textileapplications and process innovative method-ologies by pioneering value additions. Thestudents of UET will also be able to joininternship placement programs at ArchromaCenter of Excellence at Karachi.

The MoU was officially signed at aceremony recently held in Faisalabad byProf. Dr. Fazal Ahmed Khalid, ViceChancellor of UET and Mujtaba Rahim ofCEO Archroma Pakistan Limited.

Archroma acquired all remainingminority shares in M. DohmenS.A., an international group spe-cializing in the production of tex-tile dyes and chemicals for theautomotive, carpet and apparelsectors.

Since its corporate carve-out fromClariant in 2013, Archroma is set onbecoming a clear industry leader in sup-plying innovative chemistry solutions,with the goal to make the industries itserves more sustainable. Archromamade a first move in this direction whenit acquired the textile chemicals businessof BASF in 2015.

Archroma first acquired an interestin the capital of M. Dohmen S.A. with a49% share in 2014 followed by an addi-tional 26% share in 2017. Now, it has

completed the acquisition of theremaining 25% share of M. DohmenS.A.

Archroma is already serving cus-tomers of both companies with thecombined product portfolio on all mar-kets where both companies have a pres-ence.

Archroma and M. Dohmen productportfolios ideally complement eachother, especially in the area of dyes andchemicals for synthetic fibers and wool,including for the automotive sector.

Archroma will now be able to pro-ceed with the full integration of the M.Dohmen organization into Archroma,which will allow its experts worldwide tobetter focus on serving its customers’needs and requirements.

Archroma, a global leader in color and specialty chemi-cals, recently entered in a partnership with Carlin, theworld’s very first trend forecasting agency founded in 1947,aiming to promote the use of Archroma’s exclusive colorinspiration tools to fashion designers and stylists in France.

Under the terms of the new partnership, Carlin will usethe ‘Color Atlas by Archroma®’ color references in theCarlin’s 16 publications per year, including the InMouv trendbooks. Carlin will also use the Color Atlas during its colorworkshops, and Carlin and Archroma will organize regularconferences and events for fashion brands in major Frenchcities, including Paris.

The partnership agreement also appoints Carlin asArchroma’s sales agent for its color management products inFrance, including the Color Atlas by Archroma® color libraryand related tools. Archroma’s color management services willcontinue to be sold through the existing channels.

Ternua has partnered withArchroma, and its EarthColors®

patented technology, to create a capsulecollection of recycled tee-shirts andsweatshirts, collecting, recycling andupcycling agricultural waste from theBasque region in Spain after food con-sumption.

Archroma’s award-winningEarthColors® is a traceable concept ofplant-based dyes, sourced from up to100 percent renewable resources.Archroma developed EarthColors® usingnon-edible waste products, from agri-culture and herbal industries, to replacepetroleum derived raw materials; whichare the conventional raw materials usedto synthesize dyes currently. This givesbrands an alternative when looking formore natural ways of dyeing garments.

The Nutcycle collection has attractedvisitors’ attention at the recent OutdoorShow in Friedrichshafen, and it will beavailable in shops in February 2019.

Ternua’s vision was to collect walnutshells during the cider season, whencider houses typically serve walnuts withcider. It is estimated that up to 55,000kg of walnuts are consumed in theBasque region’s cider houses. The col-laboration with Archroma aimed at

using walnut shells to make biomass-based dyes to color Ternua’s garments.

The fabric, a blend of post-consumerrecycled cotton and polyester, is dyed usingthe shells collected from four nearby ciderhouses and then converted into dyestuff byArchroma in its Barcelona facilities. Theproject is supported by the Department ofthe Environment of the Gipuzkoa provincegovernment, and by the province’sNational Cider Association.�
