Shift in Process
We are making the request process easier by using a google form to gather information quicker to allow for a quicker response time.
There will be a shift in how we allocate SEIAs with a focus on health, safety, mobility, behavior, and/or communication deficits.
We will be providing transitional support with the expectation that data is collected to determine if continued support is necessary after putting intervention and supports in place.
Compelling WHY?
➔ Shift in thinking➔ Build capacity of our staff ➔ Foster student independence
ACTS
So What‘s Different?➔ SEIA allocation will focus on student need. This will not change.
➔ The parameters for receiving SEIAs will focus on health, safety, mobility, behaviors, and communication deficits.
➔ If there are instructional challenges, we are looking for student support to occur with the general educator, special educator, counselors, specialists, and interventionists working together to accommodate student learning according to the IEP and to differentiate instruction in the general education setting.
Mindset Shift
• Priority SEIA
• Transitional SEIA
• Adult support in specialized programs vs.
