He is also responsible for the daily management of WTO's relations with the IMF and World Bank. Nolan Bauerle Instigator Skuchain

Nolan was a researcher and writer for the Canadian Senate Banking Committee for several years, studying the 2008 financial meltdown, anti-terrorist financing and the future of Canada’s air industry. No study captured his imagination more than the Banking Committee’s report on cryptocurrencies. Nolan is serial entrepreneur and is excited to contribute to the blockchain revolution. He is a techno-optimist and the author of the science-fiction novel, The Blue Moon as well as the upcoming Diamond Igloo of Iqaluit. Steven Beck Head Trade Finance Asian Development Bank

Steven Beck is the head of trade finance at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). In his nine years at the ADB, he has managed exponential growth of the bank’s trade finance program and implemented its first supply-chain finance business. Also while at the ADB, Mr Beck initiated the Trade Finance Register of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which compiles the only industry-wide statistics on trade-finance default and loss rates. These statistics underpinned changes to the Basel III regulations, freeing billions of dollars to support trade in emerging markets. In 2013, he led an ADB study that, for the first time, quantified trade finance market gaps and their impact on economic growth and jobs. He began his career with roles as a special assistant to the Canadian minister for international trade and as a senior manager at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). He left CIBC to help design and implement a new multilateral development bank, the Black Sea Trade & Development Bank (BSTDB). In this capacity, he focused on Turkey, Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union. Following BSTDB, he took up roles as a senior consultant, including work with the United States Agency for International Development in southern Africa and with a start-up financial institution in Armenia. Mr Beck is on the advisory board of the ICC Banking Commission and the World Trade Board. He is also a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Working Group for Trade Finance. He has an MA from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BA from Queen’s University, Ontario.

Andrew Beechey Head Global Financial Risks, Asia Pacific Liberty International Underwriters

Andrew joined Liberty in March 2014 to head up the Asia Pacific region for the Global Financial Risks team. Based in Singapore, his role involves overseeing the development of the political risk, contract frustration and structured trade credit underwriting for the region. Prior to joining Liberty Andrew spent nine years at Zurich, where he was deputy head of the London credit and political risk team and had primary responsibility for new client development and overseeing the day to day underwriting within the team. Before embarking on his underwriting career Andrew spent nine years as a broker for Marsh, working in both the London and US markets. Finbarr Bermingham is the Asia Editor of GTR, based in Hong Kong. He has been working in Hong Kong for one year, having previously been based in London and South Korea. Simon Bessant became a Director of Texel Finance Limited in 2012 and manages a team of brokers placing political and trade credit risk insurance for bank, trader and corporate clients. Bruce Blakeman Vice-President Corporate Affairs, Asia Pacific Cargill

Bruce Blakeman is the Vice President for Corporate Affairs in the Asia-Pacific region for Cargill stationed in Singapore. His responsibilities include managing government relations, stakeholder management, M&A, internal & external communications, issues management, and corporate social responsibility activities in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Cargill in October 2005, Bruce served four years as a Presidential Appointee in the Bush Administration. He was first appointed as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Commerce where he ran the domestic operations of the U.S. Commercial Service (2001-2003). He was then asked to serve as the Secretary of Commerce Donald Evan’s special envoy to China stationed in the Beijing Embassy where he served for two years (2003-2005). Paul joined HSBC in 2010 as Chief Economist for Australia and New Zealand. Natalie Blyth is the Global Head of Trade and Receivables Finance which provides financing and risk mitigation solutions to meet clients’ international and domestic trade requirements. Natalie has over 20 years investment banking experience. She joined the Global Commercial Banking business last year as the Global Head of Large Corporates then Global Head of Client Coverage. Before moving to the Commercial Banking business in 2015, Natalie spent eight years with Global Banking and Markets business as Global Head of the Consumer Group and as Co-Head of UK Banking. Mr Lee Ark Boon is the Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the government agency promoting international trade and partnering Singapore companies in going global. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Singapore Cooperation Enterprise. Prior to joining IE Singapore, Mr Lee was the Deputy Secretary (Trade) for the Ministry of Trade and Industry from 2013 to 2016. During his tenure, he oversaw the negotiation and implementation of free trade agreements such as the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) and Turkey-Singapore FTA. He also promoted Singapore’s interests at regional and multilateral fora such as ASEAN, APEC and the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Steve joined Chubb (legacy-ACE) in February 2002 to develop the Country & Credit Risk Management department within Political Risks & Credit. As of the 1st June 2014 he relocated to Singapore as Regional Manager, Asia Pacific, Political Risks & Credit, while retaining strategic global responsibility for Country & Credit Risk Management. He has 12 years’ experience as a banker of which about 7 years were spent in relationship management and specialist product roles and 5 years in country and credit risk management. CJ Chong Head Operations, Asia Pacific Treasury Centre Shell

CJ has spent the past 13 years in Shell’s Asia Pacific treasury centre. He is currently Head of Operations, managing the centre’s front office and back office teams. The teams are responsible for all FX and MM transactions of Shell network companies in the East, as well as for providing advice on exposures, risks, and financial markets. Prior to his current role, he served as Treasury Manager covering several countries including The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and Pakistan. He acted as treasurer for the companies and was accountable for all treasury matters of the entities, including their capital structures, FX exposures, and cash management activities. He joined the company in 2003 as Senior Markets Dealer and witnessed much of the region’s treasury centralization and streamlining journey. Fabien Conderanne is currently the Acting CEO for South Asian countries which includes ASEAN, India and Australia. Fabien has been the CEO & Country Manager for Coface in Singapore since October 2012. He is also in charge of the Structured Trade & Political Risk Insurance business line for Asia Pacific. Fabien spent 8 years in various positions in the Group Finance Department at the Coface Head Office in Paris, heading the team in charge of Acquisitions, Asset Management and Financial Communication. Maria Cooper Treasury Operations Manager, Asia Pacific Treasury Centre East Shell

I am the General Manager for Shell’s Asia Pacific Regional Treasury Centre in Singapore. Shell has operations in more than 14 countries in the Asia Pacific region with businesses including oil and gas exploration and production; production and marketing of liquefied natural gas and gas to liquids; manufacturing, marketing and shipping of oil products and chemicals and renewable energy projects. Shell’s Treasury is probably one of the world’s largest corporate treasuries and is responsible for handling all of the Group’s liquidity, foreign exchange, cash management and funding requirements and providing treasury support to the business. As a member of the global treasury operations management team I’m responsible for driving change in the region, ensuring the banking and treasury operations are optimised in terms of cost and service level across the region as well as being responsible for delivering treasury expertise to the businesses including fx risk management and capital structuring. Sean Corrigan is a senior vice president and head of Programs and Solutions, Asia Pacific (APAC) for Wells Fargo International Trade Services. Based in Tokyo, he oversees strategic trade and supplier finance initiatives throughout Wells Fargo’s APAC region. Prior to his most recent position, Sean was head of International Trade Services’ Strategic Trade Solutions team in the United States. This team managed Wells Fargo’s largest trade clients and their global supply chains. In 2005, Sean opened the southeast region, and went on to launch Wells Fargo’s electronic payments initiative in the Eastern United States. Matthew Cox is a Banking and Finance Partner with Simmons & Simmons Singapore office. Matthew is an expert in Structured Trade and Commodity Finance. Shameek Kundu is Chief Data Officer (CDO) for Standard Chartered Bank globally. He is based in Singapore and is part of SCB’s global Leadership Team, and IT/ Operations Management team. Rebecca Paris Consultant Blackstone Compliance Services

Rebecca Paris, located in Melbourne, Australia, serves as the lead consultant in Blackstone’s Asia Pacific practice. Rebecca began her career in sanctions compliance at the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s (OFAC) compliance branch where she was part of a team of analysts examining all rejected and blocked assets and created better processes to identify violations, emerging threats and increased information sharing between the various divisions of OFAC. While at OFAC she advised major banks, Fortune 500 companies and lawyers on sanctions regulations. Likewise, she spearheaded the elimination of a backlog of several thousand pending cases. Mr. Azim S Walli has more than 20 years of experience in financial services. Mr Walli is responsible for developing, commercialising and managing the Bank’s Trade and Supply Chain suite of products across 13 markets within the Asia and Oceania region. Mr Walli has worked in relationship management, risk management, strategy and trade and supply chain sales in various global banks in North America, Europe and Asia. He has held leadership positions in Trade and Supply Chain Products at Credit Suisse in Zurich and most recently at ANZ in Singapore. Mr Walli holds a degree in French Language and Linguistics and a degree in Law, both from Université Laval in Canada. Tim Warren Regional Head APAC, Credit & Political Risk Zurich Insurance Group

Tim is a Senior Vice President and the Asia Pacific regional head of Credit & Political Risk Insurance at Zurich. Zurich is one of the largest global providers of credit & political risk insurance and holds a leadership position in the Berne Union, the club of export credit agencies and major private international credit insurers. Tim has been with Zurich for almost 10 years underwriting the full spectrum of short/medium term credit, sovereign debt and political risk insurance products. He transferred to Singapore from Zurich’s London office at the start of 2010 to assist in establishing their Singapore office and Asia Pacific regional hub. He has worked extensively with banks, corporates, export credit agencies and insurance brokers based throughout the Asia Pacific region and currently manages underwriters in Singapore, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at trade finance conferences. Prior to joining Zurich Tim worked with Ace Global Markets in the Lloyd’s of London marine insurance market. Tim is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurers and holds an economics degree from the University of Birmingham (UK).

Chris Wohlert Business Leader General Electric

Chris Wohlert is the Business Leader for the Commercial Distribution Finance platform in Asia for GE Capital International. In this role, he leads the inventory financing and cross-border factoring business serving multinational manufacturers across a variety of industries in coordination with the Commercial Distribution Finance platforms in GE Capital globally. Mr. Wohlert has twenty years of experience in the fields of commercial lending, inventory finance and factoring where he has managed and structured global financing programs across North America, South America, Europe, Middle East/Africa and Asia Pacific. He has spent nineteen years at GE Commercial Distribution Finance and its predecessor companies in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of portfolio management, special assets, business development and leadership. Mark has over sixteen years of broking and advisory experience in the credit, political risk and surety market. Mark currently works extensively with banks, export credit agencies, multinational companies and commodity traders addressing their credit, political risk and surety requirements. Prior to JLT, Mark worked for another leading insurance broking firm and was head of their credit, political risk and surety team in Singapore. Appointed Regional Head of Structured Commodity Trade Finance, Asia Pacific in January 2013, Frank Wu leads teams across Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai which specialise in providing a wide range of innovative structured trade finance solutions to clients in the commodity sectors including metals and mining, energy and agriculture. New Hope Liuhe is in the agriculture, food and financial business. Its products range from animal feeds to high quality food products focusing on poultry, beef, dairy and swine. It has the leading top 3 brands in China with annual revenue of CNY 80 billion. Audrey Zuck provides technical services and training to the political and credit risk insurance market through her company, A2Z Risk Services Ltd. Current clients include multinational insurance companies, Lloyd’s syndicates, specialty insurance brokers and internationally active banks. Previously she was a Director of Texel Finance Ltd for 8 years, structuring and negotiating political and comprehensive risk insurance for a variety of complex structures for financial institutions and commodity trader clients. In this capacity, Audrey provided training on managing the operational risks of insurance to clients’ loan operations departments and to new users of insurance. Audrey joined Texel in 2006, having spent 3 years at Willis placing non-payment risks for banks as well as political risks for North American corporate clients. Prior to becoming a trade credit and political risk insurance broker, Audrey worked in the Agency Finance & Insurance group at Bank of America, arranging financing for emerging market clients from multilateral and bilateral agencies as well as negotiating cross-border risk mitigation for loans arranged by the bank.
